On June 4, at the Government Headquarters, Member of the Party Central Committee, Deputy Prime Minister Ho Quoc Dung chaired the first meeting of the Government Working Group on strategic technology development and deployment of strategic technology development tasks according to Decision No. 808/QD-TTg on assigning strategic technology development tasks.
According to Decision No. 808/QD-TTg, 20 strategic technology products have been assigned to 10 agencies to take the lead in implementation with the goal of creating specific products in 2026.
Many tasks have identified output products, participating businesses, resource needs and implementation roadmaps to 2030. The total number of tasks proposed by ministries, sectors, and agencies is currently 48 tasks.
The Ministry of Health has proposed 11 tasks related to new generation vaccines for humans, cell therapy and 3D-printed medical equipment; of which 8 tasks are expected to be implemented from 2026.
The Ministry of Education and Training (MOET) proposes developing a national smart education platform applying artificial intelligence and virtual reality technology.
The Ministry of National Defense presides over the implementation of the task of building a national unmanned aerial vehicle management system to serve airspace management and low-altitude economic development; the system is expected to be tested in 2026.

The Ministry of Public Security has deployed 3 tasks on domestic cloud computing platforms, national security - network security platforms, unmanned aerial vehicles and UAV surveillance, detection, and suppression systems. The Ministry has established specialized research groups, built research and testing centers, and identified specific implementation roadmaps for each task.
The Ministry of Science and Technology initially formed about 13 tasks, focusing on the fields of: Artificial intelligence, AI cameras for border processing, unmanned aerial vehicles, autonomous robots, deep-scale rare earth processing technology and new generation mobile network infrastructure...
Concluding the meeting, Deputy Prime Minister Ho Quoc Dung emphasized that the Government has selected 20 strategic technology fields and assigned specific tasks to 10 ministries and sectors, therefore, ministries and sectors need to immediately shift from the preparation stage to practical implementation, focusing on creating specific products, technologies and businesses, bringing clear results.
Now we must start working to create products that are visible, measurable and bring real efficiency," the Deputy Prime Minister emphasized.
To accelerate progress, the Deputy Prime Minister requested that in June 2026, the Decree guiding the implementation of the High-Tech Law must be completed, including contents related to strategic technology; research and propose mechanisms for identifying, confirming and labeling strategic technology products.
The Deputy Prime Minister also requested ministries and sectors to develop detailed implementation plans, clearly define goals, results and implementation progress; periodically report to the Ministry of Science and Technology every month for monitoring and supervision.
Regarding research and testing infrastructure, the Ministry of Science and Technology urgently completes the Project on developing key national research and testing centers and laboratories to serve strategic technology research and development.
Ministries and sectors review the need to develop standards and technical regulations for strategic technology products under their management.
