The People's Council of Cao Bang province has just opened the 34th Session, 17th tenure, 2021 - 2026 on the morning of July 8.
This is the regular meeting of the first half of the year after the two-level local government officially operates from July 1, 2025. The content of the session focused on assessing the socio-economic development situation in the first 6 months of the year and proposing tasks and solutions for the last 6 months of the year.
According to the report of the Provincial People's Committee, in the first 6 months of 2025, the province's socio-economic situation continued to maintain stability and growth. GRDP increased by 6.56%; import-export turnover increased sharply by 42.7%, reaching more than 80% of the annual plan; total state budget revenue exceeded the central budget estimate by 16.5% and increased by 78% over the same period last year.
The trade, service and tourism sectors recovered positively; the program "Eliminate temporary and dilapidated houses" reached nearly half of the plan. Administrative reform, digital transformation, administrative unit arrangement and building of local governments at two levels have been vigorously implemented.

Speaking at the meeting, Secretary of the Provincial Party Committee Minh Cuong requested all levels and sectors to quickly stabilize the organizational apparatus after the merger, enhance the sense of responsibility of the staff; at the same time, focus on disbursing public investment capital, effectively implementing the Central Government's strategic resolutions, promoting investment promotion, developing the private economy, towards the target of GRDP growth for the whole year of 8%.
The session took place over two days (September 8 - 9), reviewing and approving 12 draft resolutions on socio-economic fields, the 2026 supervision program and other important contents.
At the opening session, the Session conducted the procedure for dismissing Mr. Nong Thanh Tung from the position of Vice Chairman of the Provincial People's Council, term XVII, 2021 - 2026 due to transfer to another position.
Previously, on June 29, the Standing Committee of the Cao Bang Provincial Party Committee transferred Mr. Nong Thanh Tung - Vice Chairman of the Provincial People's Council - to hold the position of Head of the Provincial Party Committee's Propaganda and Mass Mobilization Department.
