The first Congress of the Party Committee of the Ministry of Ethnic Minorities and Religions for the 2025-2030 term was attended by 150 official delegates representing nearly 500 Party members from 16 grassroots Party organizations under the Party Committee.
The first Congress of the Ethnic and Religious Affairs Committee, term 2025 - 2030, has the theme: "Building a Party Committee of the Ethnic and Religious Affairs Committee that is truly clean and strong in all aspects; Breakthrough in institutions, human resources and effectiveness and efficiency of State management of ethnic groups, beliefs and religions; contributing to the whole country's successful implementation of development goals in the era of national growth" and with the motto: "Solidarity - Discipline - Breakthrough - Development".
The Congress heard the decisions of the Standing Committee of the Government Party Committee on the organizational structure of the leadership of the Party Committee of the Ministry of Ethnic Minorities and Religions for the new term.
Accordingly, the Party Executive Committee of the Ministry of Ethnic Minorities and Religions for the 2025-2030 term consists of 23 comrades.
Mr. Dao Ngoc Dung, member of the Party Central Committee, Minister of Ethnic Minorities and Religions, continues to be trusted and appointed to hold the position of Secretary of the Party Committee of the Ministry for the 2025-2030 term.
Speaking at the congress, Deputy Prime Minister Mai Van Chinh emphasized that the Party Committee needs to continue to improve the quality of Party building and a clean and strong political system.
Focus on perfecting institutions and legal policies on ethnic groups, beliefs and religions; summarize and summarize projects until 2025 and proactively build the tasks of the industry in the 2026-2030 period.

The Deputy Prime Minister also requested the Party Committee to proactively and effectively implement the Central's resolutions, directives, conclusions and propose policies in the coming time; effectively implement the National Target Program for Socio-Economic Development in Ethnic Minority and Mountainous Areas for the period 2021-2030; Ethnic Work Strategy for the period 2021-2030, vision 2045.

The political report at the congress said that the Ministry of Ethnic Minorities and Religions was established on March 1, 2025 on the basis of merging the state management function of religion from the Ministry of Home Affairs into the Ethnic Committee.
Immediately after its establishment, the Ministry urgently improved its organization, streamlined its apparatus, and reduced 3 department-level organizations and 4 department-level organizations. Currently, the Ministry has 13 departments and units, including 9 advisory units and 4 public service units. There are 2 units established by the Minister under their authority and 5 public service units (specialized schools).
In addition, the Party Committee of the Ministry has focused on implementing the determination of the authority of local authorities at 2 levels in the fields of ethnicity, belief, and religion; decentralizing 33 tasks; simplifying more than 70% of administrative procedures and submitting for promulgation many important documents, notably Decree 124/2025/ND-CP.
