Previously, on March 15, voters nationwide went to vote for National Assembly deputies of the 16th term and People's Council deputies at all levels for the 2026-2031 term, selecting typical and worthy people, representing the will, aspirations and right to mastery of the people.
Politburo Member, National Assembly Chairman, Chairman of the National Election Council Tran Thanh Man said that preliminary statistics show that the voter turnout nationwide reached about 99.69%. Notably, no constituency nationwide had to hold re-elections.

In Resolution 151 of the National Election Council, the whole country has 864 candidates for National Assembly deputies of the 16th term in 182 constituencies to elect 500 National Assembly deputies of the 16th term.
Also according to the plan, the first session of the 16th National Assembly will open on April 6 to conduct personnel work and pass a number of draft laws and resolutions.
