Speaking at the groundbreaking ceremony, Mr. Vu Dai Thang - Chairman of Hanoi City People's Committee - said that on the occasion of the 136th anniversary of the birth of the great President Ho Chi Minh, Hanoi City and Vingroup Group organized the Groundbreaking Ceremony of the National Highway 1A spatial axis project associated with urban embellishment and reconstruction from Ring Road 1 to Cau Gie intersection.
This is an infrastructure project of particular importance to the strategy of developing urban space, connecting regions and modernizing the southern infrastructure system of the capital in the new phase.
Chairman of Hanoi City People's Committee emphasized: "The commencement of the project demonstrates the City's great determination to remove infrastructure bottlenecks, creating a foundation for a new development phase with a longer-term, synchronous and more modern vision.
The road is invested with a modern and synchronous scale, combining urban embellishment and reconstruction according to an integrated development model between transportation and urban economic space development.
The city expects this axis to become an important driving force to promote the development of the Southern Hanoi area; form new growth poles; create more room for service, trade, logistics development and improve the quality of urban space.
Chairman of Hanoi City People's Committee requested departments, agencies, branches, and local authorities to continue to closely coordinate with the investor; focus on effectively implementing site clearance and resettlement; ensuring the legitimate and lawful rights and interests of the people; and at the same time creating all favorable conditions for the project to be implemented on schedule, ensuring quality, technique, aesthetics and safety.
The Chairman of the City People's Committee also requested the investor and construction units to maximize resources, human resources, and equipment; organize scientific and professional construction; ensure committed progress and absolute safety during project implementation.
On the City's side, it is committed to always accompanying investors; promptly removing difficulties and obstacles with the highest sense of responsibility, transparency and in accordance with legal regulations.
Speaking at the groundbreaking ceremony, Mr. Nguyen Viet Quang - Vice Chairman of the Board of Directors cum General Director of Vingroup Group said that the project will also strongly apply advanced technologies right from the survey, design to construction and operation stages.
Smart technical solutions and many modern management technologies will be deployed synchronously to ensure the highest quality of works.
In particular, the project is implemented simultaneously with the work of embellishing, re-establishing the landscape and reorganizing the urban space on both sides of the road, with the expectation that the new National Highway 1A will become a model development axis of Hanoi in the new urbanization era, more open, more modern, more synchronous and create more sustainable living values for people.
The National Highway 1A spatial axis project, the section from Ring Road 1 to Cau Gie intersection, has a total length of about 36.3km, passing through 18 wards and communes of Hanoi city with a total investment of nearly 162,000 billion VND.
The road axis has a cross-section scale of up to 90m, including 10 lanes on the main route and 6 parallel lanes on both sides, the design speed is 80km/h.
