On the afternoon of July 11, the Hanoi People's Committee held a meeting to commend typical advanced examples of the Capital Police and the movement of the entire people to protect national security; commemorate the 80th anniversary of the Traditional Day of the Vietnam People's Public Security Force (August 19, 1945 - August 19, 2025), 20 years of the National Day for National Security Protection (August 19, 2005 - August 19, 2025).
Speaking at the meeting, Chairman of the Hanoi People's Committee Tran Sy Thanh said that in the first 6 months of 2025, the capital Hanoi continued to achieve many positive results in all fields.
GRDP increased by 7.2%, budget revenue exceeded the plan by 56%; the fields of culture, education, healthcare, and digital transformation all had clear progress. In particular, national defense and security are maintained, social order and safety are ensured, and people's lives are stable.
In those general results, there is an important role and contribution of the Capital Police force.
At the meeting, delegates listened to touching, simple but humane stories from representatives of 5 typical advanced examples.
From a female officer donating rare blood to save people, a leader of the records department who is enthusiastic, creative, and promotes digital transformation; a police officer in the area who is dedicated to the people, to women who quietly support people in recovery to return to daily life. Each person is a story, a valuable example for us to learn from and spread.
Chairman of Hanoi People's Committee Tran Sy Thanh congratulated the typical advanced examples present here today - the fresh flowers in the patriotic emulation flower garden representing tens of thousands of outstanding collectives and individuals who are day and night, quietly contributing their efforts and intelligence to the peaceful and developing capital.
At the meeting, the Chairman of the Hanoi People's Committee requested the city's police force to always uphold the spirit of solidarity, responsibility, and dedication to serving the people, promote the will to be self-reliant and self-reliant; steadfastly face all circumstances, always strive to excellently complete all assigned tasks.
"The task set for the Capital Police force is both very difficult and challenging, but also an opportunity for the entire force to affirm their mettle, intelligence, and glorious tradition of 80 years of building, fighting and growing up" - Mr. Tran Sy Thanh said.
Lieutenant General Nguyen Thanh Tung, Director of Hanoi Police, said that he will continuously study, practice, improve his capacity, political courage, sense of responsibility, proactively advise, grasp the situation, maintain national security, ensure social order and safety in all situations.
Closely coordinate with departments, branches, sectors and localities, mobilizing the combined strength of the entire political system and people in the cause of protecting national security.
On this occasion, the Chairman of the Hanoi People's Committee signed a decision to award Certificates of Merit to 22 collectives and 15 individuals with outstanding achievements in the movement of the entire people protecting national security and 20 years of the National Day for the Protection of National Security; awarded Certificates of Merit to 4 collectives and 8 individuals with achievements in the patriotic emulation movement in the period of 2020-2025; awarded Certificates of Merit to 10 collectives and 10 individuals with outstanding achievements in 2 years of implementing Project No. 01 of the City Police.
