President calls on Russia's Kaluga province to expand cooperation with Vietnam

President Luong Cuong hopes that Kaluga province (Russia) will promote active cooperation with localities in Vietnam.

The Ministry of Foreign Affairs said that on November 25, at the Presidential Palace, Politburo member and President Luong Cuong received Mr. Vladislav Valerievich Shapsha, Governor of Kaluga Province, Russian Federation, who is on a working visit to Vietnam.

Welcoming Governor Valerievich Shapsha and the Kaluga delegation to visit Vietnam, President Luong Cuong affirmed that the Party, State and people of Vietnam always remember the affection, support and assistance that the people of the Soviet Union and the Russian Federation have given to Vietnam in the past struggle for national liberation and reconstruction as well as in the process of building and developing the country today.

The President believes that the Governor's visit will continue to contribute to the implementation of agreements between senior leaders of the two countries, promoting cooperation between Vietnam and the Russian Federation, between Kaluga and Vietnamese localities to develop increasingly closer and more effectively.

President Luong Cuong highly appreciated the contributions of the leaders of Kaluga province in connecting businesses, attracting investment, encouraging trade, cultural exchanges, tourism and cooperation in science and technology, education - training, high-tech agriculture with localities of Vietnam, hoping that the two sides will effectively exploit the potential for cooperation, promote strengths and complement each other.

Emphasizing the cooperation achievements of Kaluga province with Vietnam as a vivid symbol of the traditional friendship and comprehensive strategic partnership with Russia, the President assessed that cooperation between localities is very important, contributing to deepening relations, mutual understanding and the need to replicate cooperation models between the two countries.

The President welcomed the Governor's initiative and hoped that Kaluga would actively coordinate with Vietnamese localities to seek more measures to promote cooperation in areas that both sides are interested in, for the benefit of the people of both countries, contributing to peace, cooperation and development in the region as well as in the world.

Governor Kaluga affirmed that Kaluga province wishes to expand cooperation with Vietnam in all fields to contribute to the common relationship between the two countries.

Governor Valerievich Shapsha said he is ready to create favorable conditions for Vietnamese enterprises to expand investment in the province and receive Vietnamese citizens for training at famous educational and scientific research institutions in the province.

Governor Valerievich Shapsha especially appreciated the investment and production activities of Vietnamese enterprises in Kaluga in the field of high-tech agriculture, including dairy farming, dairy processing and dairy products, considering this one of the factors to ensure food security in Russia and serve as a bridge between the people of the two countries.

The Governor also shared the damage and loss that the people of the provinces in the Central region of Vietnam are suffering, conveyed his condolences to the people in flooded areas and hoped that Vietnam would soon overcome the consequences of natural disasters.

Governor Valerievich Shapsha sincerely thanked the Party, State of Vietnam and President Luong Cuong personally for deciding to award the Friendship Medal to the Governor; affirmed that he will continue to work with the leaders and people of the two countries and localities to foster the increasingly strong Vietnam - Russia relationship.
