Vietnam - Laos unite to stick together, support each other for mutual development

Prime Minister Sonexay Siphandone would like to soon welcome President Luong Cuong to visit Laos and coordinate with Vietnam to organize events to honor the Vietnam - Laos relationship.

On April 17, at the Presidential Palace, Politburo member and President Luong Cuong received Lao Prime Minister Sonexay Siphandone on the occasion of the Prime Minister attending the 4th Summit of the Global Green Growth and Goals (P4G) Partnership Forum in Hanoi, from April 15 to 17.

According to the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, at the meeting, President Luong Cuong welcomed the Prime Minister Laos to attend the Fourth P4G Summit in Vietnam. The President sent condolences to the Party, State, and Lao people, as well as the individual Prime Minister and his family before the departure of comrade Khamtay Siphandone - former Chairman of the Party, former President of Laos.

Prime Minister Sonexay Siphandone expressed his pleasure to visit Vietnam to attend the P4G Summit, highly appreciating the organization and initiatives of Vietnam.

Lao Prime Minister Sonexay Siphandone emotionally expressed his most sincere gratitude to President Luong Cuong, and through the President to the leaders of the Party, State and Government of Vietnam who sent a high-level delegation led by General Secretary To Lam and Politburo member and Prime Minister Pham Minh Chinh to express condolences, visit and give a condolence to the late Prime Minister, former Party Chairman and former President of Laos Khamtay Siphandone;

Prime Minister Sonexay Siphandone and President Luong Cuong reviewed the proud memories and careers of Comrade Khamtay Siphandone and affirmed that the invaluable contributions that Comrade Khamtay Siphandone left for the relationship between the two countries will always be preserved and developed.

President Luong Cuong congratulated the Lao Prime Minister on the positive results that the Lao Government has achieved in all fields, the socio-economic life of the people has been constantly improved, the prestige and position of Laos have been increasingly enhanced in the region and internationally.

The President affirmed the consistent policy of the Party and State of Vietnam to always attach importance to and give the highest priority to the development of the great friendship, special solidarity and comprehensive cooperation between Vietnam and Laos.

Prime Minister Sonexay Siphandone shared Laos' major activities in 2025, including hoping to soon welcome President Luong Cuong to visit Laos and coordinate with Vietnam to organize events to honor the solidarity, solidarity, mutual support and development between Vietnam and Laos.

The two leaders emphasized the good tradition of relations between the two countries, built and nurtured by President Ho Chi Minh and President Kaysone Phomvihane and President Souphanouvong, along with future generations of leaders of the two countries, including the late Party Chairman and President Khamtay Siphandone, which will live forever.

The two leaders expressed their delight at the important results of bilateral relations in recent times, especially strengthening political trust, tightening security and defense cooperation, resolving difficulties, promoting economic cooperation, local and diverse exchanges and richness.

The two sides emphasized the importance of actively coordinating and organizing major anniversary activities of the two countries in 2025, thereby contributing to raising awareness for the younger generation, fostering tradition, promoting the spirit of solidarity, close attachment, making the great friendship, special solidarity and comprehensive cooperation between Vietnam and Laos increasingly brilliant.
