On the occasion of the 80th National Public Security Conference, General Luong Tam Quang - Politburo member, Minister of Public Security - wrote an article: "Ensuring security and order contributes to the implementation of socio-economic development tasks".
In the article, Minister Luong Tam Quang stated that in 2024, the world and regional situation will develop complicatedly, traditional and non-traditional security challenges will increase, posing increasingly greater demands and pressures on the work of ensuring security and order (SOC).
In that context, taking peace, prosperity and happiness of the people as the goal to strive for, the People's Public Security Force (PPP) continues to take the lead in implementing the policies and laws of the Party and State, successfully performing the task of ensuring security and order, with many results higher than in 2023; reaching the finish line early for many important goals set by the Resolution of the 13th National Party Congress and the Resolution of the 7th Central Public Security Party Congress, contributing to effectively implementing the tasks of economic, social and foreign affairs development of the country.
Strategic advisory work continues to be a bright spot with thousands of proactive reports assessing and forecasting the situation; advising and proposing to the Party and State many policies, strategies and solutions to protect national security and interests... making important contributions to creating a peaceful, stable and favorable environment for national development.
National security is maintained; proactively preventing, detecting, combating, and effectively stopping plots and sabotage activities of hostile and reactionary forces; continuing to consolidate the security belt from outside the territorial borders, thoroughly and effectively resolving many complicated security issues that have lasted for many years.
Crime prevention and control, ensuring traffic order and safety, and fire prevention and fighting are implemented resolutely, synchronously and effectively.
The work of preventing and combating corruption and economic crimes has been directed resolutely and systematically, handling many major cases with widespread impact; promptly detecting and recommending to overcome many loopholes in the management of public assets, management of the real estate market, gold, finance, social insurance, traffic, agriculture, limiting the loss and waste of state assets, contributing to building an equal, healthy and safe production and business environment.
Continue to be exemplary and take the lead in building and perfecting legal policies, implementing national digital transformation, and administrative reform. Advise and develop 8 laws and hundreds of sub-law documents, proactively propose maximum reform of administrative procedures, create a legal basis to solve many new problems, in line with development trends.
Pioneering in implementing social security policies, coordinating resource mobilization to build, renovate and repair more than 3,000 houses for poor households and households with housing difficulties.
Foreign affairs and international cooperation on security and order contribute to attracting and taking advantage of many opportunities and scientific and technical resources to serve socio-economic fields.
Building a truly clean, strong, disciplined, elite, and modern Public Security force according to Resolution No. 12-NQ/TW of the Politburo continues to achieve many important results. The Public Security force after the revolution of streamlining the organizational apparatus is now basically lean, compact, and strong, meeting the requirements and tasks in the new situation.
There are more and more examples of cadres and soldiers who dare to think, dare to do, dare to take responsibility, dare to sacrifice, truly being the fulcrum and solid support of the people, especially in times of difficulty and danger.
