According to Resolution No. 01/NQ-HDND of the Provincial People's Council on the establishment and reorganization of specialized agencies under the Provincial People's Committee, the Department of Science and Technology was established on the basis of merging the Department of Information and Communications and the Department of Science and Technology, transferring the functions and tasks of advising, helping the Provincial People's Committee manage the state of press and publishing to the Department of Culture, Sports and Tourism; transferring the task of advising, helping the Provincial People's Committee manage the state of safety and security of network information to the Provincial Police.
After the merger, the organizational structure of the Department of Science and Technology includes: Director, Deputy Directors and 5 professional departments, 1 Sub-Department, 2 public service units.
The conference announced the Resolution of the Provincial People's Council on the establishment of the Department of Science and Technology; decisions of the Chairman of the Provincial People's Committee on personnel work.
Accordingly, Mr. Nguyen Minh Tuong - Member of the Provincial Party Committee, Director of the Department of Information and Communications - was appointed to the position of Party Committee Secretary, Director of the Department of Science and Technology after the merger; appointed Mr. Nguyen Duy Anh, Khong Danh Dat, Do Xuan Hoan, Chu Thi Bich Thuy, Le Quang Thang, Nguyen Tien Trung to the position of Deputy Director of the Department.
