On June 13, National Assembly Standing Committee member Duong Thanh Binh presented a report on the expected monitoring program of the National Assembly in 2026.
According to the plan, in 2026, at the first session, the 16th National Assembly will review 8 reports from the Government, a report from the National Assembly Standing Committee and other reports from relevant agencies as prescribed by law.
In particular, there is content to supervise the implementation of many Resolutions related to the transport sector such as: Resolution of the National Assembly on investment policy for the high-speed railway project on the North-South axis; Resolution on investment policy for the Lao Cai - Hanoi - Hai Phong railway construction investment project; Resolution on piloting a number of specific mechanisms and policies, especially to develop the urban railway network system in Hanoi, Ho Chi Minh City...
At the second session, the National Assembly will consider 22 reports from the Government, 3 reports from the National Assembly Standing Committee and other reports from relevant agencies as prescribed by law.
The implementation of a series of Resolutions of the National Assembly related to other transportation sectors continues to be included in the program.
Delegate Trinh Xuan An (Dong Nai Delegation) pointed out that in the first session, more than half of the 8 considerations were related to transportation such as the implementation of the Lao Cai - Hanoi - Hai Phong railway project or specific policies for urban railway development.
At the second session, it is expected to continue reviewing 15/22 contents of reports related to transport projects.
"The number of contents considered related to traffic is too large. Moreover, among these projects, many new projects have stopped at the policy level that the Government is implementing," the delegate stated.
Therefore, the delegate suggested that the content related to traffic works, see which content needs to be removed, and support from the newly issued National Assembly for consideration and appropriate arrangement. Thus, the Government has time to organize and implement.
The delegate said that the National Assembly has just issued a historic Resolution on the arrangement of provincial-level administrative units. Therefore, it is proposed to add to the Second Session, the Government will report on the organization of administrative unit arrangement and the organization of two-level government.
The delegate of the Dong Nai delegation proposed to supplement supervision of the implementation of important laws recently passed by the National Assembly such as the Land Law, Housing Law, Real Estate Business Law with many new policies.
For prominent issues that are "very hot" such as counterfeit goods, counterfeit goods, tax invoices, etc., more flexible and effective forms such as questioning - explaining should be used to get immediate results.

Delegate Pham Van Hoa (Dong Thap delegation) recommended that the monitoring content of the National Assembly in 2026 should focus on the preparations for the election of 16th National Assembly deputies and People's Council deputies at all levels for the 2026-2031 term.
Along with that, it is necessary to monitor "hot" issues that voters are concerned about such as the situation of counterfeit goods, counterfeit goods, poor quality goods, trade fraud... spreading in the market today.
Although it has been monitoring, inspecting, urging, and reminding relevant units on this issue in the past, the effectiveness is not clear. Therefore, in 2026, it is necessary to supervise this content topically.
