On June 25, General Secretary and President To Lam received Palestinian State Ambassador Saadi Salama to say goodbye on the occasion of the end of his term of office in Vietnam.
In a warm and friendly atmosphere, General Secretary and President To Lam congratulated Ambassador Saadi Salama on successfully completing his term as Ambassador of the State of Palestine and Head of the Diplomatic Corps in Vietnam.
The General Secretary and President respected the attachment, understanding and special feelings that Ambassador Saadi Salama has given to Vietnam over the past 40 years, a vivid proof of the traditional friendly relationship between Vietnam and Palestine.
On this occasion, General Secretary and President To Lam respectfully thanked Palestinian President Mahmoud Abbas for deciding to posthumously award and award noble orders and medals to General Vo Nguyen Giap, former Vice President Nguyen Thi Binh and a number of Vietnamese individuals.
General Secretary and President To Lam affirmed the consistent stance of the Party, State and people of Vietnam to firmly support the cause of righteous struggle of the Palestinian people and share the difficulties and losses that the Palestinian people are experiencing after nearly 3 years of conflict in the Gaza Strip.
The General Secretary and President emphasized that Vietnam, within its capabilities, is always ready to share and support the State and people of Palestine, and support efforts to find a long-term and sustainable solution for the Middle East peace process on the basis of the Two-State solution.

Ambassador Saadi Salama expressed his honor to be given time by General Secretary and President To Lam to receive and respectfully conveyed the greetings and thanks of President Mahmoud Abbas and senior Palestinian leaders to General Secretary and President To Lam and leaders and people of Vietnam for always steadfastly supporting the cause of righteous struggle of the Palestinian people.
On this occasion, Ambassador Saadi Salama thanked and highly appreciated Vietnam's participation in the Peace Council on the Gaza Strip, saying that Vietnam's just and fair stance will make a positive contribution to the reconstruction of the Gaza Strip and promote the search for a sustainable and long-term solution to the Middle East peace process.
Recalling the deep impression when he was a teenager about a resilient Vietnam in the resistance war for national independence, Ambassador Saadi Salama emotionally shared his pride in being associated with Vietnam for more than 40 years since he first came to Vietnam to study and later became Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of the State of Palestine in Vietnam.
Expressing admiration for the great achievements that Vietnam has achieved in the cause of building and developing the country along with the four values of the spirit of "unity, unity, reconciliation, gratitude" of the Vietnamese nation, Ambassador Saadi Salama affirmed that he will always carry "The Story of Vietnam", an inspiration for the country and people of Palestine in the struggle for national independence and national development.
On this occasion, Ambassador Saadi Salama sent his deep thanks to General Secretary and President To Lam, generations of leaders and people of Vietnam for supporting the Ambassador to successfully complete his duties, affirming that in any position he will continue to monitor and contribute to expanding multifaceted cooperation relations between Vietnam and Palestine and Arab countries.
