On July 4, General Nguyen Tan Cuong - Member of the Party Central Committee, Member of the Central Military Commission, Chief of the General Staff of the Vietnam People's Army (VPA), Deputy Minister of National Defense - chaired a conference to review the work of advising the entire army in the first 6 months of 2025.
Speaking at the conference, General Nguyen Tan Cuong praised the outstanding results in performing the tasks of the entire army's agencies and units in recent times.
To complete the tasks in 2025 with higher results than in 2024, General Nguyen Tan Cuong requested the entire army to thoroughly grasp and seriously and effectively implement "3 focuses, 3 determination" according to the direction of General Secretary To Lam - Secretary of the Central Military Commission at the 14th Central Military Commission Conference and the direction of Prime Minister Pham Minh Chinh at the Military-Political Conference of the entire army in the first 6 months of 2025.
General Nguyen Tan Cuong also requested the effective implementation of 16 key tasks for the 2021-2026 period of the Central Military Commission; Conclusion of the Central Military Commission on the results of leadership in performing military and defense tasks, building the Army Party Committee in the first 6 months of the year and key tasks for the last 6 months of 2025; Conclusion of the Minister of National Defense at the Military-oplevial Conference for the first 6 months of 2025 and Command of the Chief of the General Staff of the Vietnam Peoples Army on military and defense work in 2025.
General Nguyen Tan Cuong noted that the entire army should strictly maintain combat readiness, closely monitor and manage airspace, sea areas, borders, inland areas, cyberspace, especially key areas, firmly protecting sovereignty and territory.
Closely coordinate with forces to maintain political security, social order and safety, protect important political events of the country, focusing on the occasion of the 80th anniversary of the August Revolution and National Day on September 2; Party Congresses at all levels, towards the 14th National Party Congress.
Strengthen the inspection of combat readiness of units; adjust the strategic arrangement, defense plans, and combat plans according to new administrative boundaries; study combat arts and organize specialized forces at each level to effectively deal with unmanned aerial vehicles, warfare using high-tech weapons, etc.
General Nguyen Tan Cuong noted that the entire army must innovate and make a breakthrough in training tasks according to Resolution No. 1659 of the Central Military Commission on improving the quality of training for the period 2023-2030 and the following years; Directive 79 of the Minister of National Defense on building a comprehensively strong unit that is "exemplary and typical" in the entire army. Units focus on training subjects strictly, ensuring programs and plans.
In which, enhancing night training, mechanical training, high-intensity training in all conditions, close to tasks, subjects, areas and combat plans, paying attention to the work of imparting practical experience, improving practical capacity, mastering existing weapons and equipment, especially new and improved weapons and equipment. Comprehensive training for subjects, focusing on newly established and merged units. Complete the training and coaching for the subjects with a document system and curriculum in accordance with the reality and organization of the new payroll of the Army.
