Deputy Prime Minister Bui Thanh Son has just signed Official Dispatch No. 177/CD-TTg dated September 29, 2025 of the Prime Minister on the methane fire at Duong Huy Coal Company - TKV, Mong Duong Ward, Quang Ninh Province.
The dispatch stated that at 10:35 a.m. on September 28, 2025, a serious accident occurred at Duong Huy Coal Company, killing 3 workers. The preliminary cause was determined to be due to a methane incident.
As soon as he received information about the accident, the Prime Minister directed to send his warmest condolences and warmest condolences to the victim's family and relatives.
To overcome the consequences and take measures to prevent similar accidents, the Prime Minister requested the Chairman of the People's Committee of Quang Ninh province to urgently organize thoughtful visits, promptly support and encourage the families of the deceased victims and carry out procedures related to the deceased victims.
Continue to focus on directing functional forces to urgently clarify the causes, overcome the consequences, stabilize production, urgently investigate, clarify the responsibilities of relevant organizations and individuals, and strictly handle violations (if any).
At the same time, direct the strengthening of inspection and examination, timely detection and handling of cases of violations of labor safety regulations in production and business activities in the area, absolutely not allowing similar cases to occur.
The Ministry of Industry and Trade coordinates with the Ministry of Finance to direct the Vietnam National Coal and Mineral Industries Group to carefully review regulations, standards, exploitation and operation processes of mines, promptly overcome shortcomings and limitations, and ensure absolute safety for workers.
The Ministry of Finance directs the Vietnam National Coal - Mineral Industries Group to closely coordinate with the functional forces of Quang Ninh province to urgently overcome the consequences of the accident, promptly provide material and spiritual support to the families of the victims and fully implement policies for victims according to regulations.
Coordinate with functional units of the Ministry of Industry and Trade to review regulations, standards, tunnel exploitation and operation processes in units under the Group, proactively find solutions according to assigned functions and tasks or propose competent authorities to issue regulations to overcome limitations, ensure absolute safety for workers in production.
The Chairman and General Director of the Vietnam National Coal and Mineral Industries Group urgently organized to overcome the consequences of the accident, promptly provided material and spiritual support to the victim's family and fully implemented policies for victims according to regulations.
Proactively review regulations, standards, and tunnel exploitation and operation processes in units under the Group, promptly overcome limitations to ensure absolute safety for workers in production.
