According to information from the Ministry of National Defense, during the process of participating in overcoming the consequences of the earthquake in the Playa Grande area of La Guaira state of Venezuela, on June 30 local time (ie July 1 Hanoi time), the Vietnamese delegation identified 11 suspected victim locations.
After many search efforts, the Vietnamese delegation removed 11 victims' bodies from the rubble and handed them over to the Venezuelan side. At the same time, the delegation opened an additional emergency receiving station to treat 26 people in the area.
On June 29 and 30 (local time), the delegation handed over aid to Venezuela, including 35 tons of dry food, 60 batches of medicine, 2 tons of canned meat, 4 generators, 500 tents, 10 tents and 50,000 medical tapes.

Previously, at noon on June 29 (local time), the aircraft carrying officers and soldiers of the Vietnamese Rescue and Relief Team landed at Simón Bolívar International Airport in Maiquetía City, Venezuela, to officially deploy international rescue and relief work in the friendly country.
Major General Pham Van Ty, Deputy Director of the Department of Rescue and Relief, General Staff of the Vietnam People's Army - Head of the delegation affirmed that the members of the delegation will make every effort to perform their duties, contributing to sharing difficulties with the Government and people of Venezuela.
To date, Vietnam is one of 30 countries that have sent rescue teams to Venezuela to carry out rescue operations.
