Dong Thap will conduct a trial operation of the commune-level government after the arrangement from June 17. According to the report, up to now, through surveys by the Working Groups, localities are currently facing difficulties in arranging headquarters and facilities for trial operation and the official operation of the new commune-level government.
Thereby, the Standing Committee of the Provincial People's Committee's Party Committee has led the Provincial People's Committee to direct the People's Committees of districts and cities to review, mobilize, and make the most of existing facilities, equipment, working means, and other resources to serve the trial operation and official operation of the commune-level government after the reorganization, especially the operation of the Public Administration Service Center.
Most of the headquarters are expected to be arranged as new commune-level government headquarters that basically meet the information infrastructure requirements; there are 45/45 communes and wards that are testing the Public Administration Service Center and 32 points for receiving documents and returning results.
Regarding the preparation for the merger and operation of the provincial government after the merger, the Standing Committee of the Provincial People's Committee has led the Provincial People's Committee to review and develop a plan to arrange workplaces for provincial civil servants and public employees when merging provinces.
From July 1, 2025, it is expected to arrange 100% of department-level cadres and civil servants and above and 70% of department-level deputy cadres and specialists to work at the new Political - Administrative Center (expected to be about 609 people); the rest will work at current headquarters (about 204 people).
For public service units, arrange civil servants to work at the current headquarters. For public service units subject to arrangement with units under Tien Giang province, the arrangement of workplaces for civil servants will be implemented according to the Arrangement Project.
At the Conference, Secretary of the Dong Thap Provincial Party Committee Le Quoc Phong emphasized that the space required by the new communes and wards will be higher and more decentralized and delegated. Thereby, the Secretary requested that all levels, sectors and localities need to clearly recognize the spirit, responsibility and honor when assigned tasks and expectations of the people about new development; need to prepare for the operation of local government at both levels; grasp the Party's viewpoint on the requirements and tasks at the commune level after the merger.
