Resolution No. 1256 of the National Assembly Standing Committee on the arrangement of district and commune-level administrative units of Ba Ria - Vung Tau province for the 2023 - 2025 period takes effect from January 1, 2025.
According to this plan, Ba Ria - Vung Tau province established Long Dat district on the basis of merging the entire natural area of 77.67 km2, population of 155,438 people of Long Dien district and the entire natural area of 189.74 km2, population of 86,063 people of Dat Do district.
After its establishment, Long Dat district had a natural area of 267.42 km2 and a population of 241,501 people.
At the same time, the commune-level administrative units of Long Dat district were rearranged. After the rearrangement, Long Dat district had 11 commune-level administrative units, including 7 communes: Lang Dai, Long Tan, Phuoc Hoi, Phuoc Hung, Phuoc Long Tho, Phuoc Tinh, Tam An and 4 towns: Dat Do, Long Dien, Long Hai, Phuoc Hai.
With the merger of Long Dien and Dat Do districts, the National Assembly Standing Committee resolved to dissolve the People's Court of Long Dien district, Ba Ria - Vung Tau province and the People's Court of Dat Do district, Ba Ria - Vung Tau province.
At the same time, dissolve the People's Procuracy of Long Dien district, Ba Ria - Vung Tau province and the People's Procuracy of Dat Do district, Ba Ria - Vung Tau province.
Establishment of Long Dat District People's Court, Ba Ria - Vung Tau Province and Establishment of Long Dat District People's Procuracy, Ba Ria - Vung Tau Province.
The People's Court of Long Dat district, Ba Ria - Vung Tau province is responsible for inheriting the duties and powers of the People's Court of Long Dien district and the People's Court of Dat Do district, Ba Ria - Vung Tau province according to the provisions of law.
Long Dat District People's Procuracy is responsible for inheriting the tasks and powers of Long Dien District People's Procuracy and Dat Do District People's Procuracy, Ba Ria - Vung Tau province according to the provisions of law.
The Chief Justice of the Supreme People's Court and the Chief Prosecutor of the Supreme People's Procuracy, within the scope of their duties and powers, are responsible for guiding the implementation of the contents of the Resolution under their management responsibilities; arranging and assigning civil servants and employees, handling headquarters and public assets at the People's Court and the People's Procuracy that are dissolved; arranging the organizational structure, deciding on the staffing, number of judges, prosecutors, other civil servants, employees of the People's Court and the People's Procuracy of Long Dat district and other contents under their authority as prescribed by law.
