On December 17, at the Government Headquarters, Politburo member and Prime Minister Pham Minh Chinh chaired a meeting to evaluate the "Quang Trung Campaign" of rapid reconstruction and repair of houses for families whose houses were collapsed, washed away, or damaged during the recent historic storms and floods in the Central regions.
According to the updated report as of 5:00 p.m. on December 16, 1,653 houses collapsed and were swept away by floodwaters and needed to be rebuilt. This figure increased by 19 houses compared to the report on December 8.
To date, the number of houses that have been rebuilt is 1,622 houses, reaching 98.1%. This figure adds 651 houses compared to December 8.
The number of houses that have been rebuilt and have been living and returning to their homes is 474 (Da Nang is 8, Quang Ngai is 9, Gia Lai is 454, Khanh Hoa is 3). The number of houses that have been repaired is 32,259, accounting for 90.3%.

At the meeting, the Prime Minister praised Dak Lak and Da Nang City for implementing the start of the most- quantity house rebuilding project in the past week; Gia Lai completed the rebuilding of many houses.
The Prime Minister once again reiterated the goal of completing all houses that need to be repaired by December 31, 2025, and completing all new construction by January 31, 2026.
"There is no longer a reason to delay, to not complete this task and if it is not completed, responsibility must be reviewed," the Prime Minister emphasized.
From now until the above deadlines, there is not much time left, so the Prime Minister requested provinces and cities, especially Gia Lai and Dak Lak provinces with large numbers of houses, to make more efforts, Party committees and authorities must closely follow the situation to closely direct; provinces and cities urgently start construction of new houses for the remaining houses.
The Ministry of Public Security, the Ministry of National Defense, and the Ho Chi Minh Communist Youth Union must support the forces participating in construction and repair; call on people to help each other in the spirit of "whoever has merits helps others, whoever has property helps others, whoever has a lot helps a lot, whoever has little helps little, help wherever is convenient".
Localities take care of materials and designs for the people; The Ministry of National Defense ensures construction labor with the spirit of "Our Army comes from the people, for the people to serve"; The Ministry of Agriculture and Environment coordinates with localities to closely monitor the situation and handle arising issues related to land and construction materials.
The Government Inspectorate conducts an inspection of the implementation of tasks and the use of support funds. Petrovietnam, EVN, VNPT, Viettel corporations actively support localities.
Regarding the restoration of infrastructure, including shared infrastructure related to people's lives, the Prime Minister requested that before December 20, localities must compile statistics on community house projects, health stations, cultural houses... that need to be repaired and overcome to report to the Government Office, submit to the Government for consideration and support.
