After 2 days of urgent and serious work (30/31.7), the 15th Congress of the Da Nang City Police Party Committee, term 2025-2030 has successfully closed.
The milestone of opening a new chapter after the merger
Major General Nguyen Huu Hop - Party Committee Secretary, Director of Da Nang City Police affirmed: "The Congress is an important political event marking a new step in the development of the Party organization in the City Police force after the merger".
Under the leadership of the Central Party Committee of Public Security, the Ministry of Public Security, the City Party Committee, local authorities, and the entire Da Nang Police force have maintained political security, social order and safety, Party building, clean and strong forces, contributing to the successful implementation of the resolutions on socio-economic development of Da Nang City and Quang Nam (before the merger).
During the past term, the City Police achieved a rate of 86.7% of criminal cases solved, with especially serious cases reaching 97.68%; preventing the formation of dangerous criminal organizations, preventing hot spots in security and order. After the merger, the apparatus is reasonably rearranged in the direction of "increasing the grassroots, reducing intermediaries", especially strengthening the Commune-level Police.
Speaking at the Congress, Chairman of the Da Nang People's Committee Luong Nguyen Minh Triet emphasized the core role of the city's Public Security force in protecting the investment environment, maintaining security and order, contributing to realizing the goal of building Da Nang into an ecological, modern, smart, and livable city; an economic, financial, trade, tourism, and logistics center of the Central region and the whole country.
"The City Police force needs to continue to demonstrate the spirit of dedication, bravery, intelligence, public ethics and aspiration to rise up, to maintain the full trust of the Party Committee, government and people of the city", Mr. Triet said.
Stay calm for development, proactively prevent early
Notably, at the Congress, Senior Lieutenant General Nguyen Van Long - Deputy Minister of Public Security - gave a speech with many strategic highlights. He especially emphasized the change of thinking from management to service: "Taking people as the center, the subject, the goal, the driving force in ensuring security and order".
According to the Deputy Minister, "Do a good job of prevention to limit the fight. Not having to handle too much is good, how to handle less while the security and order situation is still guaranteed is the most important thing".
In addition, Senior Lieutenant General Nguyen Van Long suggested that the City Police force promote its strategic advisory role, especially in implementing resolutions on digital transformation, institutional improvement, international integration and private economic development. At the same time, strengthen coordination with departments and branches, take advantage of the consensus of central agencies to build Da Nang into a truly "livable city" - a place that not only develops materially but also ensures safety, order, and a quality living environment for people, tourists and investors.
The Congress also paid special attention to grasping the internal situation, ideology, ethics, and lifestyle of cadres and party members; proactively advising on early handling of issues arising in the two-level government organization at the grassroots level after the merger; not letting small conflicts become hot spots.
With a revolutionary tradition, a spirit of solidarity, discipline and innovation, the 15th Da Nang City Police Party Congress demonstrated a high determination in maintaining security and order, serving the sustainable development of the city.
At the Congress, the Executive Committee of the 15th City Police Party Committee, term 2025-2030, consisting of 27 people, was introduced. Major General Nguyen Huu Hop continues to hold the position of Party Committee Secretary; Colonel Nguyen Dai Dong holds the position of Deputy Secretary. The Congress unanimously approved the new term Resolution with specific targets and solutions, creating a foundation for the Da Nang City Police to promote their role as the core force to maintain peace for the city on the Han River.
