On April 28, President Luong Cuong signed Decision No. 766/QD-CTN on conferring the title of "Heroic City" to the Party Committee, government and people of Hai Phong City for their outstanding and comprehensive achievements, making a great contribution to the cause of building Socialism and defending the Fatherland.
The city will officially receive this noble title at the 70th Anniversary of Hai Phong Liberation Day Ceremony held on the evening of May 13 at the Political - Administrative Center (North of Cam River urban area).
Previously, on February 27, the People's Committee of Hai Phong City submitted Document No. 29/TTr-UBND to the Prime Minister for consideration and submission to the President to award the title of "Heroic City" to the Party Committee, government and people of Hai Phong City.
Pursuant to Decree No. 98/2023/ND-CP dated December 31, 2023 of the Government detailing the implementation of a number of articles of the Law on Emulation and Commendation, the Ministry of Home Affairs conducts public consultation on awarding the title of "Heroic City" to the above-mentioned reward proposal case.
