On the morning of November 9, in the midst of the atmosphere of other localities across the country, Lao Cai Provincial People's Committee started construction of 4 schools in Mu Sung, Y Ty, Muong Khuong and Pha Long communes with a construction period of 9 months, striving to complete before August 30, 2026.
The starting point of the boarding schools in Ma Tuyen village, Muong Khuong commune, is organized online at locations across the country.
Attending were Central Party Committee member, Deputy Prime Minister Pham Thi Thanh Tra and leaders and representatives of departments and branches of Lao Cai province.

The four projects that have started this time are key projects in the School Construction Investment Program for border communes.
The projects are expected to create a breakthrough in developing educational infrastructure, improving people's knowledge, and contributing to strengthening national defense and security in the Northwest border area.
The remaining schools in the communes of Ban Lau, Trinh Tuong, Si Ma Cai, Ban Vuoc and Ban Phiet will start construction in 2026 and be completed in 2027.

School projects in border communes are invested synchronously with: classrooms, boarding houses, multi-purpose houses, libraries, kitchens, technical infrastructure... with a scale of 28 to 36 classes, serving from 980 to more than 1,200 students per school; meeting level 2 facilities according to the regulations of the Ministry of Education and Training.
The total investment for each school ranges from 230 to 299 billion VND, invested by the Lao Cai Provincial Investment and Construction Project Management Board.

The construction of a system of inter-level boarding schools in the border area is not only an investment in facilities, but also an investment in people - for the future and sustainable development of the country.

The new schools will be places to sow the seeds of knowledge, create equal learning opportunities for children of ethnic minorities, help them to excelled in their studies, and contribute to building the Lao Cai border area stronger and stronger.
