This morning (October 11), in Hanoi, the Communist Magazine and the Central Economic Committee jointly organized the scientific workshop "Theoretical achievements and application results in the economic field of the Communist Party of Vietnam over nearly 40 years of renovation".
Associate Professor, Dr. Le Hai Binh - Alternate member of the Party Central Committee, Editor-in-Chief of the Communist Magazine - said that the cause of innovation, construction and development of the country along the socialist path initiated by the Communist Party of Vietnam since 1986 has achieved great victories and achievements of historical significance; turning our country from a poor country in the world into a developing country with average income.
Accordingly, the workshop is an opportunity to identify new theoretical points and new results in summarizing practices to contribute to the development of the Draft Resolution of the 14th National Congress of the Party.
According to Associate Professor Dr. Nguyen Hong Son - Deputy Head of Central Economics, after nearly 40 years of implementing the renovation process, Vietnam is at a very important stage of development.
The country's foundation, potential, position and international prestige have been raised, which is an important premise to continue building and developing the country, successfully implementing the goals set by the 13th National Congress, so that the country can enter a new era of development of peace, independence, democracy, wealth, prosperity, civilization, happiness, and steadily moving towards socialism.
In such a context, summarizing a number of theoretical issues and results of application in economic development of the Communist Party of Vietnam over 40 years of renovation is very important, making a practical and direct contribution to the drafting of documents for the 14th National Party Congress.
Recognizing that our country has achieved many great achievements after nearly 40 years of national renovation, Associate Professor, Dr. Nguyen Van Thao - former Vice Chairman of the Central Theoretical Council - said that the theoretical achievements in the field of the country's economy are very great.
In particular, our Party's awareness of the market economy has been supplemented and perfected in many documents of the Party Congresses. We are determined to build a modern market economy, integrate internationally, follow the laws of the market but ensure socialist orientation, suitable for each stage of the country's development, not hasty, not subjective.
However, Associate Professor Dr. Nguyen Van Thao also pointed out things that need to be assessed and frankly recognized, such as growth rate and growth quality, which need to be placed in relation to the world and the region.
"We have achieved many successes but we are not complacent, satisfied, or resting on our laurels" - Associate Professor, Dr. Nguyen Van Thao acknowledged.
