Speed up the investigation and final handling of cases and incidents
On July 7, in Hanoi, the Central Steering Committee on preventing and combating corruption, waste and negativity (TNLPTC) held its 28th session to discuss and give opinions on the situation report, the results of the Steering Committee's activities in the first 6 months of 2025 and the key tasks for the last 6 months of the year along with a number of other important contents.
Concluding the meeting, General Secretary To Lam - Head of the Steering Committee emphasized the focus on directing the completion of reviewing and fully institutionalizing the policies and viewpoints on preventing and combating TNLPTC issued since the beginning of the 13th National Party Congress term.
In particular, focus on completing the amendment of the Law on Practicing Thrift and Combating Wastefulness; the Law on Prevention and Combating Corruption and related laws; amending and supplementing regulations on economic and technical standards and norms that are no longer suitable for the country's development practices, ensuring consistency, unity and feasibility.
The General Secretary requested to urgently complete the review and clarification of causes, and have specific handling plans for each project and project, which is behind schedule, has long-term backlogs, is low in efficiency, and is at risk of causing loss and waste, and direct the final handling of difficulties and problems for the two Central Hospital projects; renewable energy projects; flood resolution projects in the Ho Chi Minh City area.
The General Secretary suggested focusing on investigating and striving to completely handle cases and incidents of TNLPTC under the supervision and direction of the Steering Committee, ensuring that by the end of the 13th National Party Congress term, there will basically no longer be any backlog of old cases and incidents.
In particular, directing the acceleration of investigation and final handling of cases and incidents that occurred at Thuan An Group, Vietnam Cement Corporation, Nha Trang airport project, 2 investment projects to build the second facility of Bach Mai Hospital and Viet Duc Friendship Hospital.
Rectifying the mindset of waiting and relying on superiors
The General Secretary stated that it is necessary to strengthen inspection, supervision, and examination, promptly detect, prevent, and handle violations and TNLPTC related to the arrangement and management of cadres and the use of public finance and public assets during and after the organizational arrangement, implementing the 2-level local government model.
Urgently improve the effectiveness of the Provincial Steering Committee for Prevention and Control of Corruption and the competent authorities for Prevention and Control of Corruption in localities after the merger and consolidation; strengthen inspection, supervision, inspection, control of power, prevention and control of Corruption in organizing and operating at the grassroots level, resolutely prevent the situation of Corruption and Corruption; rectify the ideology of waiting and relying on superiors, pushing and delaying work resolution, causing congestion, wasting time, effort, and money of the State, people and businesses.
