On the afternoon of October 17, a press conference was held in Hanoi on the expected agenda of the 10th Session of the 15th National Assembly.
At the 10th Session, the National Assembly did not organize questions and answers. The National Assembly changes the way of supervising the implementation of the National Assembly's resolutions on thematic supervision and questioning in the form of: The Government and agencies will send full reports; National Assembly deputies will send written questions for respondents to answer continuously from now until the 10th Session. The National Assembly will compile a report and arrange a meeting in one session on this content.
Responding at the press conference, Deputy Head of the National Assembly Office Nguyen Van Hien said that this session will not organize questions and answers directly at the National Assembly hall.
Mr. Nguyen Van Hien cited that Article 32 of the Law on the Organization of the National Assembly clearly states: National Assembly deputies have the right to be questioned about the President, Chairman of the National Assembly, Prime Minister, Ministers and other members, Chief Justice of the Supreme People's Court, Chief Prosecutor of the Supreme People's Procuracy, and State Auditor General.
The person being questioned must answer the question before the National Assembly at a session or at a meeting of the National Assembly Standing Committee, giving a written answer.
This is a case applied under necessary conditions as in the case at the 10th Session. Thus, we do not remove the form of questioning but allow the person being questioned to respond in writing," said Mr. Nguyen Van Hien.
Affirming that not organizing direct questioning does not affect the function of the National Assembly, Mr. Nguyen Van Hien added, "we do not leave the form of supervision and supervision of the National Assembly vacant", in addition to questioning, there are many other forms such as: Supervision through reporting, supervision through topic.
