According to information from the Border Guard Command, due to the impact of storm No. 3 and the post-storm circulation, there were prolonged heavy rains in the border units of Nghe An province, rising flood waters, causing serious damage to people and property of the State, people and Border Guard units.
At many Border Guard stations such as My Ly, Na Loi, Muong Ai, Thong Thu..., floodwaters caused deep flooding in houses, work areas, and serious landslides that threatened the safety of forces, weapons, and equipment.
In particular, My Ly Border Guard Station was flooded up to 1.5m, Na Loi Station had nearly 1,000m3 of rock and soil near the command area. Currently, in many areas, Border Guard units have no power grids or phone signals, making communication extremely difficult.
Regarding residents, floods have collapsed and washed away 6 houses, forcing more than 160 households in border communes such as Nhon Mai, My Ly, Thong Thu, Tri Le to evacuate.
Dozens of landslides on national and provincial highways caused serious traffic jams, causing many communes and Border Guard stations to be completely cut off.

Currently, the rain has decreased, the Nghe An Border Guard Command has established frontline working groups, directly directing response and overcoming consequences in key areas, deploying forces on duty 24/7, ensuring absolute safety for people and officers and soldiers.
On July 23, the Border Guard coordinated with local authorities, families and functional forces to find the body of Ms. Ly Y Duong, 70 years old, residing in Huoi Pop village, Nam Can commune, swept away by floodwaters 50m from the location where the body was swept away.
