On the morning of December 10, the National Assembly Standing Committee opened its 40th session - the last session of 2024 to consider and decide on adding a number of draft laws and resolutions to the 2025 Law and Ordinance Development Program; consider and approve the 2025 Work Program of the National Assembly Standing Committee and many other important contents under its authority.
Speaking at the opening of the 40th session, National Assembly Chairman Tran Thanh Man said the session is expected to take place over two days (December 10-11), reviewing and resolving many important issues.
In particular, the National Assembly Standing Committee will focus on reviewing, drawing experience and summarizing the 8th Session of the 15th National Assembly.
Regarding legislative work, this session will consider and approve the program for 2025. In particular, the Standing Committee will consider and decide on adding a number of draft laws and resolutions to the 2025 Law and Ordinance Development Program.
Review and approve the 2025 Work Program of the National Assembly Standing Committee and the Ordinance on Litigation Costs.
Along with that, the National Assembly Standing Committee also considered and added draft laws to the 2025 law and ordinance making program.
These include 6 drafts of the Bankruptcy Law (amended); the Law on Promulgation of Legal Documents (amended); the Law on Protection of Personal Data; the Press Law (amended); the Law on Lawyers (amended); and a draft Resolution of the National Assembly on exemption from agricultural land use tax.
National Assembly Chairman Tran Thanh Man also said that, as planned, at the end of February 2025, the National Assembly will meet to amend and supplement a number of articles of the Laws related to the work of streamlining and reorganizing the state apparatus such as the Law on Organization of the National Assembly (amended), the Law on Organization of the Government (amended), the Law on Organization of Local Government (amended)...
At this 40th session, the National Assembly Standing Committee will consider the arrangement and establishment of district and commune-level administrative units for the 2023-2025 period of Ninh Binh province and 6 contents on finance and budget.
The National Assembly Standing Committee will also review the report on people's petitions in November 2024 (including people's petitions in October 2024); give opinions on the draft Decree regulating the establishment, management and use of the Investment Support Fund; and give opinions on the authority to sanction administrative violations of a number of positions.
The National Assembly Chairman also said that in case the agencies prepare documents in time, the National Assembly Standing Committee will consider and decide on the cost of organizing and managing social insurance and unemployment insurance for the period 2025-2027.
National Assembly Chairman Tran Thanh Man emphasized that it is necessary to urgently prepare conditions to immediately implement the Laws passed by the 8th Session of the 15th National Assembly, shortening the time for preparing guiding documents so that new regulations can be put into practice as quickly as possible, unblocking credit and budget flows, and meeting the requirements of socio-economic development.
