On February 25, the 18th Nghe An Provincial People's Council, term 2021 - 2026, held the 27th session (special session) to implement the contents under its authority.
The meeting reviewed and approved 7 resolutions on the establishment of specialized agencies of the Provincial People's Committee on the basis of merger, arranging 13 departments and branches to establish 7 new departments (reducing 6 departments and branches). After the arrangement, Nghe An Provincial People's Committee currently has 14 specialized agencies.
Accordingly, the Department of Home Affairs of Nghe An province was established on the basis of merging the Department of Home Affairs and the Department of Labor, War Invalids and Social Affairs.
Establish Nghe An Provincial Department of Finance on the basis of merging the Department of Finance and the Department of Planning and Investment.
Establish the Department of Agriculture and Environment of Nghe An province on the basis of merging the Department of Agriculture and Rural Development and the Department of Natural Resources and Environment.
Establish Nghe An Provincial Department of Construction on the basis of merging the Department of Construction and the Department of Transport.
Establish the Department of Science and Technology of Nghe An province on the basis of merging the Department of Science and Technology and the Department of Information and Communications.
Establish the Department of Culture, Sports and Tourism of Nghe An province on the basis of merging the Department of Culture and Sports and the Department of Tourism.
Establish the Department of Ethnic Minorities and Religions of Nghe An province on the basis that the Provincial Ethnic Committee receives the functions, tasks, and organization of the state management apparatus of religion transferred from the Provincial Department of Home Affairs.
The new departments will be established and operate from March 1, 2025.
The task of reorganizing the apparatus of specialized agencies under the Provincial People's Committee is carried out according to the Party's policies, orientations and instructions of the Central Steering Committee, the Government Steering Committee, and the Provincial Party Executive Committee on summarizing the implementation of Resolution 18 of the 12th Central Executive Committee.
Immediately after the meeting, Mr. Hoang Nghia Hieu - Deputy Secretary of the Provincial Party Committee, Chairman of the Provincial People's Council, Chairman of the meeting - requested the Provincial People's Committee to soon issue regulations on functions and tasks for newly established professional agencies, arranged to operate stably immediately, without interruption of work, without leaving vacant assigned areas, fields and tasks, without affecting the normal operations of people and businesses.
