On March 9, in Hanoi, Factory Z176 (General Department of National Defense Industry) held a ceremony to receive the First-class Fatherland Protection Order and celebrate the 55th anniversary of the traditional day (March 9, 1971 - March 9, 2026).
Presenting a speech at the ceremony, Colonel Pham Anh Tuan - Director of Factory Z176 - said that national defense tasks are always identified as a central focus throughout, the factory has gradually mastered the technology of producing materials and disguise products - guillotines, specialized uniforms and many other specialized national defense products, meeting modern combat requirements.
In recent years, the factory has maintained a growth rate of over 14%. In 2025, the factory achieved revenue of 3,552 billion VND, of which export revenue reached 112 million USD. This result shows resilience, durability and increasingly modern and effective management capacity.
Speaking at the ceremony, Senior Lieutenant General Pham Hoai Nam - Member of the Party Central Committee, Deputy Minister of National Defense - emphasized that, born in the fierce years of the resistance war against the US for national salvation, generations of officials, employees, and workers of Factory Z176 have always promoted the good qualities of Uncle Ho's soldiers and the glorious tradition of the military industry; actively innovated, created, promoted the application and mastery of science and technology, strived to strive, and excellently completed assigned tasks... making important contributions to the cause of national liberation, construction and defense of the socialist Vietnamese Fatherland.
After the country's reunification, the factory continued to excellently complete the task of manufacturing, producing, and supplying good quality defense industrial products, effectively serving the training and combat readiness of the Army.
In recent years, thoroughly grasping the guidelines and directions of the Central Military Commission and the Ministry of National Defense, the factory has quickly consolidated, arranged, stabilized the organization, invested in new and modern equipment lines, made breakthroughs in science and technology development and digital transformation; proactively researched and applied many scientific and technological topics, valuable initiatives and inventions; successfully produced and manufactured dual-use, high-quality defense products.
To complete the tasks in the coming time, Senior Lieutenant General Pham Hoai Nam clearly stated that Factory Z176 needs to focus on performing well a number of key tasks, first of all, to regularly thoroughly grasp and seriously and effectively implement the guidelines and directions of the Party, State, and Army on the development of the defense industry.
Actively innovate, create, research, apply, master new and modern science and technology, promote digital transformation, improve management and administration capacity, strive to produce and manufacture many high-tech defense products successfully.
Along with that, continue to review and rearrange the factory to be lean, compact, specialized, modern, and effective. Take care of building a team of dedicated, responsible, and exemplary officials and employees. Build a clean and strong Party organization at all levels associated with a comprehensively strong factory that is "model and typical".
On this occasion, authorized by the President, Senior Lieutenant General Pham Hoai Nam awarded the First-class Fatherland Protection Medal to Factory Z176.
