This morning (December 31), in Hanoi, the Truth National Political Publishing House held a ceremony to announce the Politburo's decision on the functions, tasks, and organizational structure of the Truth National Political Publishing House.
According to Decision No. 223-QD/TW of the Politburo, the Truth National Political Publishing House is a public service unit of the Party Central Committee, under the direct and regular leadership of the Secretariat, with the function of being the theoretical and political publishing agency of the Party and the State; operating according to the regulations and instructions of the Party and the laws of the State.
Mr. Phan Thang An - Deputy Head of the Central Organizing Committee - said that according to Decision 223-QD/TW, the Politburo continues to affirm the important position and function of the National Political Publishing House Truth.
"Regarding tasks, in addition to inheriting the tasks of Decision 68-QD/TW (previous regulations), the Politburo has added a number of major and important tasks. Regarding the organizational structure, the Central Organizing Committee highly welcomes the units of the Publishing House that have pioneered in streamlining from 17 departments to 14 departments. This is a great effort of the Publishing House" - Mr. Phan Thang An said.
Mr. Phan Thang An also requested the leaders of the Publishing House to specify and develop an implementation plan from Decision 223, first of all, to review and define the functions and tasks of each unit. Along with that, it is necessary to consolidate and arrange personnel to ensure objectivity, impartiality, and solidarity; review and develop the working regulations of the Publishing House in the direction of being streamlined, compact, strong, effective, and efficient.
At the conference, Associate Professor Dr. Vu Trong Lam - Director and Editor-in-Chief of the National Political Publishing House Truth - said that regarding tasks and organizational structure, this decision of the Politburo has made some adjustments and additions compared to previous regulations.
In which, the work of "translation" is added to the first task of the Publishing House (Decision 68 only mentions the work of "editing and publishing").
In particular, the new decision has added another task: "Organizing propaganda and introducing publications on politics, theory, society and law to improve the level and political awareness of cadres, party members and people".
Regarding the organizational structure, according to the new decision, the Publishing House has some notable changes. The total number of department-level units of the Publishing House has been reduced by 3, from 17 to 14 units (equivalent to nearly 18%).
In which, the Planning - Editorial Secretary Department was merged with the Finance - Accounting Department to form the Planning - Finance Department; the Organization - Personnel Department was merged with the Publishing House Office to form the Publishing House Office; the Da Nang Branch was converted into a department-level unit.
Mr. Vu Thanh Mai - Deputy Head of the Central Propaganda Department - expressed his hope that the Truth National Political Publishing House will continue to closely follow the policies and resolutions of the Party and State to promptly publish documents and books serving propaganda work, research and study, contributing to protecting the Party's ideological foundation. Along with that, improve the quality of content and form of publications, ensuring objectivity, science and appeal.
"This is one of the core tasks of the National Political Publishing House Truth" - Mr. Vu Thanh Mai said.
