Mr. Do Van Chien, Politburo member, Secretary of the Party Central Committee, Chairman of the Central Committee of the Vietnam Fatherland Front (VFF) attended the Ceremony to announce the National Assembly's Resolution on the merger and consolidation of Hung Yen province and Thai Binh province into Hung Yen province (new); announced the Politburo's Decision to establish the Hung Yen Provincial Party Committee; resolutions and decisions of the National Assembly, the Government, the Vietnam Fatherland Front related to the activities of the People's Council, People's Committee, Vietnam Fatherland Front Committee of Hung Yen province and announced the province's decisions related to the activities of Party committees, authorities, and Vietnam Fatherland Front of communes and wards.
According to the decision, Mr. Nguyen Huu Nghia, member of the Party Central Committee (former Secretary of the Hung Yen Provincial Party Committee) was appointed to hold the position of Secretary of the new Hung Yen Provincial Party Committee.
Mr. Nguyen Khac Than (former Secretary of the Thai Binh Provincial Party Committee) was appointed Deputy Secretary of the Provincial Party Committee, holding the position of Chairman of the new Hung Yen Provincial People's Committee.
Mr. Tran Quoc Van (former Chairman of the People's Committee of Hung Yen province) was appointed as Deputy Secretary of the Provincial Party Committee, holding the position of Chairman of the new People's Council of Hung Yen province.
Speaking at the ceremony, Chairman of the Central Committee of the Vietnam Fatherland Front Do Van Chien emphasized that the merger of Hung Yen province with Thai Binh province into the new Hung Yen province opens up new development space, maximizing the potential and advantages of the two lands of Thai Binh and Hung Yen rich in cultural traditions, revolutionary history and heroism.
This will also combine the potential and advantages of the marine ecological zone, marine economy with the advantages of approaching the capital Hanoi to build Hung Yen province to become a new growth pole of the capital, the Northern Delta, a province with modern industrial development; a center of marine economy, new energy, civilized urban area; ecological agriculture, modern countryside, civilized farmers.
