In Decision No. 389 of the Minister of Agriculture and Environment, the tasks of the Minister and Deputy Ministers are assigned as follows:
Minister Do Duc Duy
Comprehensively lead and manage the activities of the Ministry according to the functions, tasks and powers of the Ministry.
Direct the development of institutions, policies, planning, and strategies on agriculture and environment; the following tasks: organizing the apparatus, payroll, cadres, civil servants, and public employees; administrative reform, improving the investment and business environment; preventing and combating corruption, waste, and negativity; inspecting, receiving citizens, handling complaints and denunciations.
Deputy Ministers
Deputy Minister Nguyen Hoang Hiep
Monitor and direct the fields: irrigation; natural disaster prevention; jointly responsible for the following tasks: planning and investment; gender equality, for the advancement of women. Assist the Minister in directing the work of: preventing and combating corruption, waste and negativity.
Monitoring the provinces and cities in the Central Highlands: Kon Tum, Gia Lai, Dak Lak, Dak Nong, Lam Dong.
Deputy Minister Nguyen Thi Phuong Hoa
Monitor and direct the fields of: measurement and mapping; remote sensing; general responsibility for the following tasks: emulation, reward; training and fostering cadres, civil servants, and public employees; nursing, rehabilitation; mass mobilization, implementation of grassroots democracy regulations.
Assist the Minister in charge of the following units: Department of Organization and Personnel, Ministry Inspectorate. Follow some provinces and cities in the Red River Delta: Hai Phong, Hai Duong, Hung Yen, Vinh Phuc, Bac Ninh, Quang Ninh.
Deputy Minister Tran Thanh Nam
Monitor and direct the following areas and work: management of agricultural, forestry, fishery and agricultural material quality; processing and developing agricultural product markets; management of quality, food safety and hygiene; promoting agriculture and building raw material areas that meet export standards; managing the salt industry; building new rural areas and the National OCOP Program; training work of schools under the Ministry (except for training and fostering cadres, civil servants and public employees).
Deputy Minister Tran Quy Kien
Monitor and direct the fields of geology and minerals; communely responsible for the work of information technology, digital transformation. Directly in charge of: Vietnam Geological and Mineral Resources Administration, Office of the National Mineral Resources Assessment Council; Department of Digital Transformation; Institute of Geological Sciences and Minerals.
Deputy Minister Le Cong Thanh
Monitor and direct the following areas: environment, hydrometeorology, climate change. Directly in charge of the following units: Department of Environment; Department of Hydrometeorology; Department of Climate Change; Institute of Hydrometeorology and Climate Change.
Deputy Minister Phung Duc Tien
Monitor and direct the fields: aquaculture; fisheries control; animal husbandry; veterinary medicine; search and rescue at sea; jointly in charge of the following tasks: science and technology; communication, journalism.

Monitor and direct the following areas: land; water resources; seas and islands; the work of arranging real estate facilities for agencies and units under the Ministry.
Directly in charge of the following units: Department of Land Management; Department of Water Resources Management; Department of Fisheries and Islands of Vietnam; Standing Office of the Vietnam Mekong River Commission; Institute of Environmental Sciences, Sea and Islands; Institute of Water Resources Science; National Center for Water Resources Planning and Investigation.
Deputy Minister Nguyen Quoc Tri
Monitor and direct the fields: forestry, forest rangers; nature conservation and biodiversity. Directly in charge of the following units: Department of Forestry and Forestry Control; Department of Nature Conservation and Biodiversity; Institute of Forestry Investigation and Planning; Vietnam Institute of Forestry Science; Forestry Project Management Board.
Deputy Minister Hoang Trung
Monitor and direct the following areas: cultivation; plant protection; restructuring the agricultural sector; general responsibility for international cooperation, financial management and state-owned enterprises under the Ministry; and the work of arranging and innovating the operations of state-owned agricultural and forestry companies.
Deputy Minister Vo Van Hung
Monitor and direct the following areas of work: legal affairs; office work; poverty reduction; rural development; development of cooperative economy, cooperative, household economy, farm and production linkage in agriculture; agricultural start-ups; agricultural insurance; agricultural vocational training for rural workers; management of occupations, rural services and agricultural electromechanics.
