On July 31, in Hue City, the Ministry of Public Security coordinated with the Central Committee of the Vietnam Women's Union, the Central Committee of the Ho Chi Minh Communist Youth Union and the People's Committee of Hue City to organize a launching ceremony in response to "World Day for Prevention and Combat of Human Trafficking" and "All-people Day for Prevention and Combat of Human Trafficking" in 2025.
Speaking at the ceremony, Mr. Nguyen Van Phuong - Chairman of Hue City People's Committee affirmed that Hue being chosen as the place to organize the national launching is a source of pride, demonstrating the determination of local authorities and people in the fight against human trafficking - an inhumane, transnational, and extremely dangerous crime.
Mr. Phuong said that Hue has implemented many synchronous solutions, focusing on prevention, typically the dismantling of a child trafficking ring to Cambodia in August 2024, rescuing 3 victims.
Speaking at the ceremony, Senior Lieutenant General Le Quoc Hung - Deputy Minister of Public Security commented that human trafficking activities today are increasingly organized and have sophisticated tricks, often taking advantage of the flow of migrants and the development of digital technology to commit crimes. He said that the 2024 Law on Prevention and Control of Human Trafficking (amended) will be a more complete legal corridor to enhance the effectiveness of prevention and control.

In his speech, Deputy Prime Minister Nguyen Hoa Binh affirmed: "Humban trafficking is a serious crime, requiring comprehensive involvement, no one should stand aside".
The Permanent Deputy Prime Minister has set out 8 key orientations in the coming time: Completing the legal system to suit international practices and commitments; Strengthening the capacity of law enforcement of functional forces; Applying technology, building a national database on victims; Strictly handling human trafficking rings and organizations; Strengthening communication and legal education to each community; Integrating with hunger eradication, poverty reduction, and social security programs; Strengthening international cooperation to effectively control cross-border activities; Launching a movement for the whole people to participate in preventing and combating human trafficking.
We must act responsibly, wholeheartedly and resolutely to protect the people, especially women and children, the Permanent Deputy Prime Minister emphasized.
Immediately after the launching ceremony, armed forces, unions, students, students and workers participated in a parade on the central streets of Hue City to strongly spread the message: "Joining hands - Resolutely - Not giving in to human trafficking crimes".
Previously, a series of communication activities, legal education, art, visits and gifts for victims who were sold back were deployed, creating a positive effect in the community.
Choosing Hue as a national launching pad shows the Central Government's confidence in a heritage city that is transforming strongly, safely, friendlively and determined to say "no" to crime.
