Authorized by the Central Party Secretariat, Can Tho City Party Committee Secretary Do Thanh Binh presented the Decision of the Central Party Secretariat to Mr. Pham Van Hieu - Standing Deputy Secretary of the City Party Committee, Chairman of the Can Tho City People's Council to retire from May 1, 2025.
Speaking at the conference, Mr. Pham Van Hieu said that during his 43 years of working, he has always received guidance, education, and training from the Party, support and assistance from comrades and colleagues to make his contributions.
Mr. Pham Van Hieu said that through each assigned task, he always tries to fulfill the assigned task to the best of his ability and hopes to continue to contribute his experience and enthusiasm to the development of the city and the prosperity of the people.
Speaking at the Conference, Secretary of the Can Tho City Party Committee Do Thanh Binh highly appreciated Mr. Pham Van Hieu's important contributions to the overall development of Can Tho City in recent times.
The Secretary of the Can Tho City Party Committee stated that Mr. Pham Van Hieu has excellently fulfilled the tasks of the Party, State and City Party Committee throughout his work. Especially in the role of Standing Deputy Secretary of the City Party Committee and Chairman of the City People's Council.
The Secretary of the Can Tho City Party Committee emphasized that during his time holding important positions, Mr. Pham Van Hieu has promoted his capacity and experience, together with the collective leadership of the city, to make important policies and guidelines.
The Secretary of the Can Tho City Party Committee suggested that Mr. Pham Van Hieu, with his working experience and enthusiasm, continue to make valuable contributions to the city in the coming time.

Before being elected Chairman of Can Tho City People's Council, Deputy Secretary of Can Tho City Party Committee, Mr. Pham Van Hieu was Secretary of Ninh Kieu District Party Committee, Vice Chairman of Can Tho City People's Council, Director of Department of Justice, Head of Legal Department of Can Tho City People's Council.
