On the afternoon of July 17, a Government working delegation led by Mr. Nguyen Van Thang - Member of the Party Central Committee, Deputy Prime Minister, worked with Hung Yen province on the situation of implementing solutions to promote double-digit economic growth.
Reporting at the working session, Standing Vice Chairman of Hung Yen Provincial People's Committee Nguyen Le Huy said that with the goal of GRDP growth on average in the period 2026 - 2030 reaching 10-11%/year, striving for over 11%/year, right from the beginning of the year, the province has issued a socio-economic development plan, developed growth scenarios for each month, each quarter, assigned specific targets to departments, branches, localities and synchronously implemented many solutions to promote growth.
Thanks to that, in the first 6 months of 2026, Hung Yen's GRDP increased by 10.72%, exceeding the set scenario, ranking in the group of 5 localities with the highest growth rate in the country. Total state budget revenue reached 42,930.5 billion VND, equal to 51% of the estimate; disbursement of public investment capital reached 16,589.7 billion VND, equivalent to 40.3% of the plan assigned by the Prime Minister, higher than the national average.
Chairman of the Provincial People's Committee Nguyen Manh Quyen said that after the merger of administrative units, Hung Yen has focused on stabilizing the organizational structure, building new development orientations with three growth poles, taking planning as the foundation.
The province is completing urban planning, striving to basically complete it in 2027; building a growth scenario for 2026 from 11 - 12%; and at the same time completing the decentralization and delegation of power mechanism, reviewing revenue sources, expenditure tasks, cadre management and proposing the Central Government to consider transferring 36 eligible communes to wards, towards the goal of building Hung Yen into a centrally-run city.
Concluding the working session, Deputy Prime Minister Nguyen Van Thang acknowledged that Hung Yen is one of the bright spots in economic growth with GRDP increasing by over 10%, budget revenue, investment attraction and disbursement of public investment capital achieving positive results.
The Deputy Prime Minister requested the province to continue to innovate development thinking, effectively exploit the three economic pillars, accelerate disbursement of public investment capital associated with ensuring the quality of works, complete the project to develop Hung Yen in the direction of becoming a strong marine economic region, an energy and logistics center; improve the investment environment, attract strategic investors, develop social housing, worker housing and fully prepare conditions to build Hung Yen into a centrally-run city.
Speaking to receive directing opinions, Secretary of the Hung Yen Provincial Party Committee Pham Quang Ngoc thanked the concern and direction of Deputy Prime Minister Nguyen Van Thang and the working delegation and the support of central ministries and branches for the province. The Secretary of the Hung Yen Provincial Party Committee said that after more than a year of merging the province and operating the two-level local government model, the apparatus has basically operated stably, creating new momentum for development.
The Provincial Party Secretary affirmed that Hung Yen will seriously absorb the directions of the Deputy Prime Minister, urgently concretize 15 assigned task groups, coordinate with ministries and sectors to remove difficulties and obstacles, and be determined to complete and exceed the GRDP growth target for 2026.
