The STV-380 submachine gun is a prominent product of the new generation STV assault rifle production line of Factory Z111 (General Department of National Defense Industry). This type of gun is mass-produced and equipped for many units throughout the army, gradually replacing the old AK-47/AKM lines in the army.
STV is the abbreviation of Gun - Submachine gun - Vietnam; symbol 380 indicates the length of the gun barrel (unit measured in millimeters).
The gun is designed according to the principle of extracting gas to automatically load ammunition for the next shot. A common feature of the STV lines is that they all use 7.62x39mm ammunition and can use any standard magazine of AK-47/AKM.
