National Assembly approves 17 Ministers and Heads of Sectors under the Government for the 2026-2031 term

The National Assembly has approved the structure of the number of Government members for the new term with 23 members including the Prime Minister, 6 Deputy Prime Ministers and 17 Ministers and heads of sectors.

On April 8, at the First Session, with 489/489 delegates participating in the vote in favor, the 16th National Assembly passed a Resolution on the structure of the number of Government members for the 2026-2031 term.

Accordingly, the structure of the number of Government members for the 2026-2031 term includes 23 members: Prime Minister; 6 Deputy Prime Ministers; 14 Ministers of Ministries: National Defense; Public Security; Foreign Affairs; Home Affairs; Justice; Finance; Industry and Trade; Agriculture and Environment; Construction; Culture, Sports and Tourism; Science and Technology; Education and Training; Health; Ethnic Minorities and Religion.

3 Heads of ministerial-level agencies: Governor of the State Bank of Vietnam; Inspector General of the Government; Minister, Chairman of the Government Office.

With 481/481 National Assembly deputies participating in the vote in favor, the 16th National Assembly voted to approve the Resolution approving the Prime Minister's proposal on the appointment of Ministers and other members of the Government for the 2026-2031 term.

According to the Resolution just passed, the Government for the 2026-2031 term has 17 Ministers and heads of sectors, including the following:

Previously, the National Assembly voted to approve the Resolution approving the Prime Minister's proposal on the appointment of Deputy Prime Ministers for the 2026-2031 term, including Mr./Ms.: Pham Gia Tuc, Phan Van Giang, Pham Thi Thanh Tra, Ho Quoc Dung, Nguyen Van Thang, Le Tien Chau.

Among the Deputy Prime Ministers, General Phan Van Giang was also approved to be appointed Minister of National Defense.
