Regulations on salary increase for professional police officers

HƯƠNG NHA |

The consideration of promotion and salary increase for police officers and non-commissioned officers according to training level is stipulated in Circular No. 34/2020/TT-BCA.

Mr. Nguyen Van Linh (character's name has been changed) said that in 2022, he joined the People's Public Security (CAND) service and was considered for transfer to professional service in 2024.

Before being recruited into the People's Public Security, Mr. Linh had a university degree, majoring in Information Technology.

"So can I use my university degree to consider salary increase and promotion according to Circular 30/2023/TT-BCA?" - Mr. Linh wondered.

Regarding Mr. Linh's question, the Ministry of Public Security has responded on the Electronic Information Portal.

In Clause 5, Article 9 of Circular No. 30/2023/TT-BCA dated July 20, 2023 of the Minister of Public Security, regulations on salary arrangement, conferment, and promotion of ranks for citizens selected and admitted to the People's Public Security:

Non-commissioned officers on duty who have graduated from intermediate, college, university, etc. before transferring to professional status, if assigned a job suitable to their training major by the Public Security of units and localities, will be considered for promotion, salary increase or salary grade transfer according to regulations of the Ministry of Public Security for higher training levels after one year (from the date of transfer to professional status).

Therefore, if Mr. Linh is assigned a job suitable to his training level, he will be considered for promotion and salary increase according to his training level.

The consideration of promotion and salary increase for police officers and non-commissioned officers according to training level is stipulated in Article 7 and Article 10 of Circular No. 34/2020/TT-BCA dated April 10, 2020 of the Minister of Public Security stipulating the annual promotion and salary increase regime for police officers and non-commissioned officers.
