On January 27, Politburo Member, National Assembly Chairman Tran Thanh Man visited and expressed gratitude to former Party and State Leaders on the occasion of the 96th anniversary of the founding of the Party, the 14th National Congress of the Party that was just very successful, celebrating the 80th anniversary of the first general election to elect the National Assembly of Vietnam and preparing to welcome the Binh Ngo Lunar New Year.
National Assembly Chairman Tran Thanh Man visited and wished Tet to former General Secretary Nong Duc Manh; former National Assembly Chairman Nguyen Thi Kim Ngan.
Sharing at the meeting with former Party and State leaders, National Assembly Chairman Tran Thanh Man affirmed that, before the great requirements and very glorious tasks in the new development period, the National Assembly deeply understands responsibility to the Party, to the People and to history.
With the tradition of solidarity, innovation, responsibility; with the direct and comprehensive leadership of the Party; with the consensus and support of the People, the National Assembly is most determined to successfully implement the Resolution of the 14th Party Congress, contributing with the entire Party, people, and army to realize the aspiration to develop a strong, prosperous, and happy Vietnam in the new era" - National Assembly Chairwoman affirmed.
National Assembly Chairman Tran Thanh Man also stated clearly that to realize the two 100-year national development goals, the National Assembly plays a particularly important role, institutionalizing the will and determination of the Party into a legal framework, development policies, ensuring the Party's will blends with the people's hearts, and unified and synchronous actions of the entire political system and the whole society.
Deeply aware of its role and responsibility, the National Assembly clearly defines that the quality and progress of institutionalizing the Resolution of the 14th National Congress is the most important measure to assess the effectiveness and efficiency of the National Assembly's activities in the coming term.
All programs to build laws, ordinances, resolutions; all decisions on socio-economic development, state budget, public investment, national defense, security, foreign affairs... must directly serve the implementation of the goals and tasks set out by the 14th Congress.
The National Assembly Chairwoman affirmed that in the coming time, the National Assembly will continue to innovate the organization, operation, professionalization and modernization to better meet the requirements of reality in the new era of the country.

On the same day, National Assembly Chairman Tran Thanh Man visited and offered incense to commemorate Head of the National Assembly Standing Committee Bui Bang Doan (in Bat Chua village, Ung Thien commune, Hanoi), late General Secretary Truong Chinh; visited and wished Tet to his family, offered incense to commemorate late National Assembly Chairman Le Quang Dao, late Senior Lieutenant General Le Minh Huong - Minister of Public Security, Hero of the People's Armed Forces.
