On the occasion of the 80th anniversary of the August Revolution, National Day September 2 and the 80th anniversary of the Traditional Day of the People's Public Security Forces (August 19, 1945 - August 19, 2025), on the morning of August 15, in Hanoi, the Truth National Political Publishing House and the Central Public Security Party Committee jointly organized a book introduction ceremony "When the people need it, when the people are in need, there is a police".
Senior Lieutenant General, Associate Professor, Dr. Tran Quoc To - Member of the Party Central Committee, Deputy Secretary of the Central Public Security Party Committee, Deputy Minister of Public Security and Associate Professor, Dr. Vu Trong Lam, Director - Editor-in-Chief of the National Political Publishing House Truth chaired the Ceremony.

With nearly 300 pages, the book is a rich collection of stories, documents, realistic and touching images about the silent but huge contributions of the People's Public Security Force (CAND) throughout the history of the revolution, especially in peacetime.
From police soldiers in remote areas to soldiers on duty day and night at the front lines to prevent and combat the COVID-19 pandemic, natural disasters, floods... all have been depicted as vivid images of the brave heart and the spirit of serving the people.

Speaking at the Ceremony, Associate Professor, Dr. Vu Trong Lam said that in the context of the country entering a new era of development with increasingly high requirements, the People's Public Security force is assigned a particularly important responsibility. Each officer and soldier needs to be absolutely loyal to the Party, the Fatherland and the People, always devoted, serving, maintaining political courage, revolutionary ethics, integrity and being ready to sacrifice for the cause of protecting national security, ensuring social order and safety.
The publishing of the book will become an important learning and research document, effectively serving the Party's guidelines and policies, the State's policies and laws on the task of protecting national security, ensuring social order and safety, and at the same time being a reference handbook for Party committees at all levels in the People's Public Security Forces.

Speaking at the ceremony, Senior Lieutenant General, Associate Professor, Dr. Tran Quoc To emphasized that after 80 years of building, fighting and growing, the People's Public Security Forces have always deeply carved and implemented Uncle Ho's teachings: Respect and be solemn with the People; serve the People and rely on the People to work. Thanks to that, the force has continuously grown, achieved many glorious feats, maintained political security, order, social safety, and protected the peaceful life of the people.
In recent years, under the absolute leadership of the Party and the direction of General To Lam - now General Secretary, the People's Public Security Forces have left many outstanding marks: taking the lead in streamlining the apparatus; advising on many major policies and strategies; defeating criminal rings; pioneering the application of science and technology, digital transformation; perfecting the legal system; enhancing international cooperation; effectively implementing social security programs, helping tens of thousands of poor households, policy families and ethnic minorities.
Towards the 80th Anniversary of the People's Public Security Traditional Day and the 20th Anniversary of the National Day for National Security Protection, the Central Party Committee of the Public Security - Ministry of Public Security has directed the compilation of a book to propagate, disseminate, and deeply engrave the image of the heroic People's Public Security force with glorious feats and achievements; at the same time, it demonstrates the determination to effectively implement the Party's guidelines and policies, the State's policies and laws and the direction of General Secretary To Lam on ensuring security and order and building a People's Public Security force to meet the requirements in the new situation.
