In particular, the official upgrading of relations between the two countries to Comprehensive Strategic Partnership has made Vietnam Singapore Singapore's first Comprehensive Strategic Partnership in ASEAN; not only a historic milestone in the bilateral relationship, but also opens up many opportunities for development and cooperation in the future, contributing to the common development of the region.
National Assembly Chairman Seah Kian Peng emphasized that the Singaporean National Assembly has a good and close cooperation relationship with the Vietnamese National Assembly through high-level visits; emphasized that within the framework of the new relationship, the two sides need to strengthen relations through the channels of the Party, State, National Assembly, people and businesses, creating a foundation and contributing to shaping the relationship between the two countries in the future, actively contributing to the development of friendship, multifaceted cooperation and the Vietnam - Singapore Comprehensive Strategic Partnership; and affirmed that Singapore is ready to support Vietnam in training human resources.
General Secretary To Lam thanked the warm and respectful reception that Singapore gave to the delegation, affirming that Vietnam always attaches importance to and wishes to develop the Comprehensive Strategic Partnership between the two countries deeply and comprehensively, worthy of the newly established framework of relations. The General Secretary also congratulated Singapore on its outstanding achievements in all aspects, being an example for Southeast Asian countries to follow.
The two leaders agreed to assess that Vietnam and Singapore shared many similarities in values, culture, development vision and common stance on many regional and international issues. The two sides were satisfied with the positive and substantial results in bilateral cooperation in recent times in various fields, from politics, diplomacy to defense - security, trade - investment, science - technology, education - training, tourism and people-to-people exchange; expanding to new areas with great potential such as digital economy, green transformation, energy transition and innovation...
On this occasion, General Secretary To Lam also conveyed the invitation of National Assembly Chairman Tran Thanh Man to Singapore's National Assembly Chairman to soon visit Vietnam at a favorable time. National Assembly Chairman Seah Kian Peng thanked and happily accepted.
