This afternoon (December 31), the Central Internal Affairs Committee - the standing agency of the Steering Committee, held an announcement of the results of the 27th meeting of the Central Steering Committee on preventing and combating corruption, waste and negativity (PCTNLPTC) (Steering Committee).
The announcement was chaired by: Mr. Dang Van Dung - Deputy Head of the Central Internal Affairs Commission; Ms. Dinh Thi Mai - Deputy Head of the Central Propaganda Commission; Major General Hoang Anh Tuyen - Deputy Chief of Office of the Ministry of Public Security, Spokesperson of the Ministry of Public Security.
At the conference, Mr. Dang Van Dung - Deputy Head of the Central Internal Affairs Commission - said that at the 27th Session, the Steering Committee identified key tasks in 2025.
In particular, focusing on leadership and direction to overcome loopholes and shortcomings, remove bottlenecks and bottlenecks in institutions and laws, create momentum for innovation, creativity, socio-economic development and PCTNLPTC.
The focus is to urgently perfect the institutions on waste prevention and control; on the organization and operation of agencies in the political system after reorganization and streamlining; amend, supplement, and overcome loopholes and inadequacies in mechanisms, policies, and laws that have been pointed out through the review; and build and effectively implement the National Strategy on Waste Prevention and Control.
At the same time, resolutely and comprehensively implement, creating new changes and breakthroughs in the work of preventing and combating waste at both the central and local levels. Urgently direct the completion of the review and have solutions to completely resolve projects and works that are behind schedule, have long-term backlogs, are ineffective, causing great loss and waste. Report to the Steering Committee on the review results in the first quarter of 2025.
One of the key tasks in 2025 also identified by the Steering Committee is to direct the strengthening of inspection, supervision, auditing, investigation, and handling of serious, complicated corruption, waste, and negative cases of public concern; especially cases related to party congress personnel at all levels.
Strive to complete the investigation and handling of 26 cases and 9 incidents by 2025. Especially focus on investigating, prosecuting, and bringing to first instance trial the cases occurring at Phuc Son Group, Thuan An, Vietnam Electricity Group, Thai Duong Group and Vietnam Rare Earth Joint Stock Company, Saigon - Dai Ninh project (Lam Dong), Nha Trang airport.
The Steering Committee also identified the task of directing the effective implementation of regulations on power control, improving the effectiveness of solutions to prevent corruption, waste and negativity.
In particular, strengthening power control, anti-corruption in personnel work and in agencies with anti-corruption functions; preventing waste and negativity in the implementation of restructuring and streamlining the apparatus, staff and management and use of assets of agencies and organizations after restructuring and streamlining; promoting administrative reform, digital transformation, publicity, transparency, control of assets, income, and non-cash payments; continuing to effectively implement Project 06 of the Government.
Directing to continue to promote and create stronger changes in the effectiveness of the Provincial Steering Committee for Anti-Corruption and Crime. Continuing to perfect the mechanism for people to supervise and control power effectively and efficiently; creating favorable conditions for people to directly reflect and denounce corruption, waste and negativity.
