Thailand is ready to share with Vietnam the experience of applying space technology

On May 28, General Secretary and President To Lam held talks with Thai Prime Minister Anutin Charnvirakul.

At the talks, exchanging views on directions to further deepen the Comprehensive Strategic Partnership in the coming time, the two leaders expressed their willingness to accompany and support each other in development.

The two sides agreed to continue to strengthen political trust through maintaining high-level and high-level contacts across all channels; improve the effectiveness of existing bilateral cooperation mechanisms; agree to hold the 5th meeting of the Vietnam - Thailand Joint Cabinet, Thailand - Vietnam in Thailand; and soon hold a meeting of the Joint Committee for bilateral cooperation between the two Ministers of Foreign Affairs.

The two leaders agreed to promote and further deepen defense and security cooperation, strengthen coordination in preventing transnational crime, cybercrime, drug crime and cooperation in ensuring maritime security and safety.

General Secretary and President To Lam requested the two sides to continue to uphold and implement the commitment of the senior leaders of the two countries not to allow any individuals or organizations to use the territory of one country to operate against another; to soon move towards negotiating and signing the Extradition Agreement and the Agreement on Mutual Legal Assistance in Criminal Matters.

Prime Minister Anutin Charnvirakul emphasized that Thailand absolutely does not allow the use of its territory against friendly countries.

In the economic field, the two leaders agreed to promote cooperation and economic connection in a complementary direction, with new breakthroughs and new quality development; strive to soon bring bilateral trade turnover from the current 22 billion USD to 25 billion USD in a balanced and sustainable direction, accelerate licensing procedures, and open markets for some potential agricultural products.

Prime Minister Anutin Charnvirakul affirmed that Vietnam is one of Thailand's top important partners in the region; emphasizing that the two countries have many similarities and potential to become major production centers of the world.

Wishing the two sides to cooperate more in promoting the private economic sector of each country to develop, Prime Minister Anutin Charnvirakul affirmed that Thailand supports and encourages businesses of the two countries to strengthen cooperation; highly appreciates the operational efficiency of Vietnamese businesses present in Thailand and welcomes more Vietnamese investors to come to Thailand.

General Secretary and President To Lam proposed that the two sides quickly establish a joint working group to develop a plan and promote the effective implementation of the important "Three Connections" Strategy, including:

Connecting supply chains, connecting businesses, localities and connecting sustainable development strategies; strengthening transportation and logistics connections; expanding cooperation in new fields such as artificial intelligence, digital transformation, digital economy, green economy, innovation and equitable energy transition.

Agreeing to promote scientific and technological cooperation between the two countries, especially in new fields such as artificial intelligence, semiconductor technology,... The Thai Prime Minister proposed that the two sides study joint projects in biotechnology and microbial technology; Thailand is ready to share experiences with Vietnam in applying space technology and using satellites.
