On June 23, the Thanh Hoa Provincial Party Committee held the 46th Conference, approving the Project to end the activities of 26 district-level party committees and establish 166 new commune and ward party committees, officially effective from July 1, 2025.
At the conference, Mr. Nguyen Van Hung - Head of the Organizing Committee of Thanh Hoa Provincial Party Committee - presented the Project to end the activities of 26 district-level party committees under the Thanh Hoa Provincial Party Committee and the Project to establish 166 commune, ward and town party committees under the Provincial Party Committee.
Concluding the conference, Mr. Nguyen Doan Anh - Secretary of Thanh Hoa Provincial Party Committee - emphasized: The Provincial Party Committee Executive Committee agreed to end the activities of 26 Party Committees of districts, towns and cities under the Provincial Party Committee from July 1, 2025; at the same time, establish 166 new Party Committees at the commune and ward levels (according to Resolution No. 1686 of the National Assembly Standing Committee).
At the same time, organize the transfer of party organizations and party members, including party organizations of agencies, vertical units, and enterprises to the Party Committee of the commune and ward where the headquarters are located.
The Provincial Party Secretary assigned the Provincial Party Committee's Organization Committee to preside over and coordinate in advising on the Decision to end the activities of 26 district-level Party Committees; assigned the Standing Committees of district, town and city Party Committees to direct the review and consolidation of party organization records and party member records; proactively prepare and conduct procedures for handing over party organizations and party members, financial work, assets, equipment, facilities and other related contents according to regulations.
Regarding the Project to establish 166 commune and ward party committees under the Provincial Party Committee, the Provincial Party Secretary emphasized: The Provincial Party Committee Executive Committee agreed to establish 166 commune and ward party committees (including 147 communes and 19 wards) which are the party committees at the level directly above the grassroots party organization, directly under the Provincial Party Committee, ensuring unity and synchronization with the arrangement of commune-level administrative units according to Resolution No. 1686 of the National Assembly Standing Committee.
After the Party Committee, government, Vietnam Fatherland Front and local socio-political organizations come into operation, based on the Central's guidance and the criteria on population size, natural area, functions, tasks, and powers of the commune level to build job positions, submit to competent authorities to assign civil servant and public employee positions to the locality.
