On September 3, Mr. Le Quoc Phong - Member of the Party Central Committee, Secretary of the Provincial Party Committee, Head of the National Assembly Delegation of Dong Thap province, together with leaders of the Provincial Party Committee's Organization Committee, the Provincial Party Committee Office and Cao Lanh Ward, presented the 80-year Party membership badge to Major General Le Quang Vien.
Mr. Le Quang Vien (97 years old), currently residing in Cao Lanh ward, is an early patriot. From March 1945, he participated in revolutionary activities in Tan Duong commune, Lai Vung district (formerly).
He has 50 years of service in the army, having held many positions: Member of the Provincial Party Committee Standing Committee, Commander of the Dong Thap Provincial Military Command, Major General. He retired in October 1995.
At the Party Badge awarding ceremony, the Secretary of the Dong Thap Provincial Party Committee visited his health and life, and expressed his gratitude for the great contributions of Party member Le Quang Vien to the cause of protecting the country, maintaining peace for the nation as well as the development of Dong Thap province in recent times.
Secretary of the Dong Thap Provincial Party Committee Le Quoc Phong emphasized that the leaders of Dong Thap province will continue the tradition of previous generations of leaders in building the homeland; at the same time, he hoped that the spirit and will of the elderly Party members will continue to be a shining example for the younger generation to follow.
Major General Le Quang Vien is the only Party member of Dong Thap province to receive the 80th Anniversary Party Badge among over 1,000 Party members receiving the Party Badge from 30 to 80 years old on the occasion of the 80th anniversary of National Day on September 2.
