On August 25, the Dong Thap Provincial Police Party Committee held the 1st Congress of Delegates for the 2025 - 2030 term.
For the 2020-2025 term, the Dong Thap Provincial Police Party Committee has raised its spirit and responsibility, determined to overcome difficulties, successfully implement the goals and requirements set out in the Resolution, maintain stable political security, control and reduce crimes, effectively serve the requirements of economic, social and foreign development of the province. Notably, the police force in Dong Thap province has made many innovations and changes in working status associated with digital transformation and administrative reform in the context of the fourth industrial revolution; mobilized maximum resources to effectively implement the key and breakthrough projects of the Government and the Ministry of Public Security; exploited and used many digital technology solutions, contributing to improving the effectiveness and efficiency of State management of security and order and serving social governance, crime prevention and control.
With a high sense of responsibility, at the Congress, 200 delegates representing nearly 2,600 party members in the Provincial Police Party Committee focused on discussing and giving opinions on the political report, drawing many lessons for the 2020-2025 term and setting out groups of tasks, solutions, goals and targets to strive for in the 2025-2030 term.
The Congress proposed 3 breakthroughs, including promoting digital transformation, applying science and technology to all aspects of public security work; building commune-level public security to meet the requirements and tasks in the new situation and tightening discipline and order, building a truly clean, strong, disciplined, elite and modern team of cadres.
On behalf of the Central Public Security Party Committee, leaders of the Ministry of Public Security, Senior Lieutenant General Nguyen Ngoc Lam - Member of the Central Public Security Party Committee Standing Committee, Deputy Minister of Public Security - acknowledged, commended and congratulated the results and achievements of the Dong Thap Provincial Police Party Committee in the past term. Senior General Nguyen Ngoc Lam suggested some additional contents such as: in the current context, in addition to favorable opportunities, there are also many new risks and challenges; traditional and non-traditional security issues are still facing complexity; the merger of provinces and cities, streamlining the apparatus, and operating local governments at both levels both open up space and create new development momentum, and set increasingly high requirements and tasks for security and order protection.
In addition, Senior Lieutenant General Nguyen Ngoc Lam suggested that the Dong Thap Provincial Police Party Committee pay attention to, innovate, and improve the quality of leadership, direction, and organization of emulation movements, in conjunction with other local campaigns, creating motivation for officers and soldiers to strive; continue to review, arrange, and rearrange the staff, ensuring enough strength to shoulder the task "from the grassroots".
Speaking at the Congress, Mr. Le Quoc Phong - Secretary of the Dong Thap Provincial Party Committee - acknowledged, highly appreciated and praised the results that all Party members, cadres and soldiers have achieved in the recent term. The achievements of the Provincial Police Party Committee effectively serve the socio-economic development of the province and contribute significantly to the successful implementation of the Resolution of the Provincial Party Congress, term 2020 - 2025.
The Secretary of the Dong Thap Provincial Party Committee also suggested that the Provincial Police Party Committee focus on key tasks of quickly stabilizing the organization, building solidarity and unity in the entire Party Committee, this is the top priority task and has decisive significance. In addition, continue to thoroughly grasp and seriously implement the Party's viewpoints and guidelines on protecting national security, ensuring social order and safety in the new situation, especially focusing on leading and advising on continuing to effectively implement Resolution No. 12-NQ/TW of the Politburo on building a truly clean, strong, disciplined, elite, modern People's Public Security force, meeting the requirements of tasks in the new situation.
The Congress announced the decision of the Provincial Party Committee Standing Committee to appoint the Executive Committee of the Dong Thap Provincial Police Party Committee consisting of 23 comrades and the Standing Committee consisting of 7 comrades. Major General Lam Phuoc Nguyen - Director of Dong Thap Provincial Police was appointed to hold the position of Secretary of the Provincial Police Party Committee, term 2025 - 2030.
