On the afternoon of August 13, in Hanoi, after 3 working days, the National Assembly Standing Committee closed its 48th session.
In his closing speech, Politburo member and National Assembly Chairman Tran Thanh Man said that the National Assembly Standing Committee has completed all the contents of the 48th Session agenda with 17 contents to prepare to submit to the National Assembly at the upcoming 10th Session.
According to the National Assembly Chairman, this is the first session to implement a number of new regulations of the Working Regulations of the National Assembly Standing Committee. Accordingly, the meeting strictly implemented the arrangement of only eligible contents in the program, there was no longer a situation where agencies proposed to adjust many times.
At this session, the National Assembly Standing Committee focused on reviewing and giving opinions on the acceptance, explanation, and revision of 6 draft laws that were discussed by the National Assembly at previous sessions, giving initial opinions on 13 draft laws submitted to the National Assembly for approval at the 10th Session.
In addition, the National Assembly Standing Committee agreed to submit to the National Assembly 2 contents: specific mechanisms and policies for investment in the construction of Gia Binh International Airport; the use of local budgets to support costs for a number of investment projects in Vietnam under the Government's authority.
The National Assembly Standing Committee also reviewed the report of the Supervisory Delegation and approved the Resolution on thematic supervision "Implementation of policies and laws on development and use of human resources to meet the requirements of socio-economic development, especially high-quality human resources".

At this session, the National Assembly Standing Committee also passed 3 Resolutions under its authority, including: Resolution regulating the implementation of democracy within National Assembly agencies and People's Council agencies; Resolution on spending norms for the review of legal documents; Resolution on the number of State Audit units in areas under the State Audit.
National Assembly Chairman Tran Thanh Man suggested that agencies urgently fully absorb the opinions agreed at the meeting, complete the dossier and documents, ensure quality, and send them to National Assembly deputies within the prescribed time.
For resolutions that have been approved by the National Assembly Standing Committee, it is recommended to review the technical document, complete the format and submit to the National Assembly Chairman for approval immediately after the meeting for timely promulgation.
Immediately after this session, the National Assembly Chairman stated that agencies need to focus on preparing for the next sessions, especially the September Session - the peak session for giving opinions on the contents submitted to the 10th Session, which is extremely heavy and important.
Specifically, there will be a second comments on the preparation for the 10th Session; consider and approve the 2026 legislative Program; give opinions on draft reports summarizing the term of the National Assembly, the National Assembly Standing Committee, the President, the Government, the Supreme People's Court, the Supreme People's Procuracy, the State Audit...
