Deputy Minister of Labor, Invalids and Social Affairs appointed as Deputy Minister of Home Affairs

Mr. Nguyen Van Hoi, Deputy Minister of Labor, War Invalids and Social Affairs, was transferred and appointed to the position of Deputy Minister of Home Affairs.

On February 25, the Government Office announced that Prime Minister Pham Minh Chinh had just signed Decision No. 336/QD-TTg to transfer and appoint Mr. Nguyen Van Hoi, Deputy Minister of Labor, War Invalids and Social Affairs, to the position of Deputy Minister of Home Affairs.

The new Deputy Minister of Home Affairs Nguyen Van Hoi was born in 1970, hometown An Thi district (Hung Yen province), professional qualification: PhD in Economics, Senior Political Theory.

Before being appointed as Deputy Minister of Home Affairs, Mr. Nguyen Van Hoi had worked for many years at the Ministry of Labor, War Invalids and Social Affairs, holding many positions, such as: Head of the Department of Social Work (Department of Social Protection), Deputy Director of the Department of Social Protection, Director of the Department of Social Protection, Deputy Minister of Labor, War Invalids and Social Affairs

Previously, the Ministry of Home Affairs had 3 Deputy Ministers including: Vu Chien Thang, Truong Hai Long, Cao Huy. The Minister of Home Affairs is Ms. Pham Thi Thanh Tra.

On February 24, the Government issued Decree No. 25/2025/ND-CP stipulating the functions, tasks, powers and organizational structure of the Ministry of Home Affairs.

The Ministry of Home Affairs has 18 administrative units that assist the Minister in performing State management functions, including:

1. Department of Organization - Border Guard;

2. Department of Local Government;

3. Department of Civil Servants - Public Employees.

4. Department of Non-governmental Organizations;

5. Department of Administrative Reform;

6. Department of Youth and Gender Equality;

7. Department of International Cooperation;

8. Department of Organization and Personnel;

9. Department of Legal Affairs;

10. Department of Planning - Finance;

11. Ministry Inspectorate;

12. Ministry Office;

13. Department of State Documents and Archives;

14. Department of Salary and Social Insurance;

15. Department of Employment;

16. Department of Overseas Labor Management;

17. Department of Meritorious People;

18. Central Emulation and Reward Committee.

4 public service units, serving the function of state management of the Ministry include: Information Technology Center; Institute of State Organization and Labor Science; State Organization and Labor Magazine; Dan Tri Newspaper.

The Decree takes effect from March 1, 2025.

On February 6, 2025, the National Assembly Standing Committee passed Resolution No. 1402/NQ-UBTVQH15 of the National Assembly Standing Committee on increasing the number of Deputy Ministers and Deputy Heads of ministerial-level agencies to meet the requirements of personnel arrangement and arrangement when implementing the arrangement and streamlining of the state apparatus. In which, 2 Deputy Ministers were added so that the total number of Deputy Ministers of the Ministry of Home Affairs could not exceed 7 people.
