On May 11, in Hanoi, Politburo member and Prime Minister Pham Minh Chinh - Head of the Central Steering Committee for the implementation of the elimination of temporary and dilapidated houses nationwide - chaired the 4th meeting of the Steering Committee.

In his concluding remarks, the Prime Minister assigned the Ministry of Ethnic Minorities and Religions to preside over and coordinate with the Government Office to fully synthesize reasonable opinions, promptly complete them, and submit to the Prime Minister to issue a Conclusion Notice for the Session for implementation.

The Prime Minister stated: "We celebrated the 95th anniversary of the Party's founding, 50 years of the liberation of the South, reunification of the country, preparing to celebrate the 80th anniversary of the National Day, it is impossible to let people have no accommodation or temporary houses, dilapidated houses" - the Prime Minister said.

According to the Prime Minister, in recent times, the inauguration and started of projects to eliminate temporary and dilapidated houses has created motivation, inspiration, created movements, trends, and a vibrant competitive atmosphere in all levels, sectors, localities, business communities and people.

Each house is a meaningful " gift", "a love", "a home", demonstrating responsibility, love, comradeship, compatriotism, sense of responsibility, sharing of the whole community; expressing the trust and excitement of the people, especially the poor, the disadvantaged, people in remote areas, and ethnic minorities.

This realizes the Party's guidelines and policies; demonstrates the good goals and superior nature of our regime and Party with the ideology of "People are the root"; "leaving no one behind"; socio-economic development must be associated with ensuring fairness, progress and social security; not sacrificing progress and social justice to pursue economic growth alone.

As of May 7, 2025, there are 15 localities with no more temporary or dilapidated houses, including: Hanoi, Hai Phong, Quang Ninh, Vinh Phuc, Ho Chi Minh City, Ba Ria - Vung Tau, Bac Ninh, Thai Nguyen, Can Tho, Khanh Hoa, Tay Ninh, Tra Vinh, Binh Phuoc, Vinh Long, Kien Giang.

In June 2025, it is expected that 16 more localities will complete the Program.

Analyzing the shortcomings and limitations, the Prime Minister emphasized that in some localities, the steering committee and the leaders are not determined and not determined.

Regarding the key tasks and solutions in the coming time, the Prime Minister assigned the Ministry of Ethnic Minorities and Religions to closely monitor, regularly urge and request localities to review and complete the plan daily, weekly, monthly, quarterly and from now until October 31, 2025 to complete the goal of eliminating temporary and dilapidated houses in the area.

Continue to update and clearly identify local difficulties and problems to proactively resolve according to authority; promptly advise and propose to the Prime Minister and the Central Steering Committee to handle issues beyond authority. Chair online meetings with localities that are still facing many difficulties in implementation to immediately resolve difficulties and problems.
