Politburo member and Prime Minister Pham Minh Chinh has just sent a letter of commendation for the brave, decisive, and wise example of saving people in the flash flood in Hang Pu Xi village, Xa Dung commune, Dien Bien province of the Head of Mua A Thi village.

In the early morning of August 1, heavy rain caused a terrible flash flood and landslide in Hang Pu Xi village, Xa Dung commune, Dien Bien province. The flash flood brought soil and rocks down, submerging the entire area.

In the letter, the Prime Minister wrote: I was very moved to know that in that moment of life and death, right in the middle of the night, the Head of Mua A Thi village, 26 years old, was brave, did not fear danger in the face of the fierce flood, called on the villagers and directly supported the elderly and children in need.

Thanks to the timely, wise and decisive warning action of the Head of Mua A Thi village, the entire Hang Pu Xi village with 90 people was saved from the sudden natural disaster, avoiding catastrophic consequences.

Request the Chairman of Dien Bien Provincial People's Committee and the Minister of Home Affairs to urgently study and propose worthy rewards for the Head of Mua A Thi village according to regulations.

On behalf of the Government, the Prime Minister praised and commended the extremely brave, decisive, and wise actions for the lives of the people, with a very high sense of responsibility, love, and "national love and compatriotism" of the A Thi season grassroots cadres.

The Prime Minister called on every citizen, cadres and party members, especially cadres and party members at the grassroots level, to learn from the example of courage, a sense of responsibility to forget oneself for the community, be close to the people, and be very dedicated to serving the people of the Head of Mua A Thi village.
