On July 8, Politburo member, Prime Minister Pham Minh Chinh and his wife, along with a high-ranking Vietnamese delegation, left Rio de Janeiro City for home, concluding their trip to attend the BRICS Summit and work in Brazil.
Deputy Foreign Minister Nguyen Minh Hang said that the Prime Minister's working trip created new colors for the Vietnam - Brazil Strategic Partnership, opening a new chapter of cooperation, meeting the needs, desires and interests of the two countries, especially in the context of many complex developments in the world.
On bilateral levels, the Prime Minister held talks with President Lula da Silva and many Brazilian leaders, working with large enterprises, and achieving many substantial results.
The two sides agreed to promote political, trade and investment cooperation. Two-way trade is currently approaching 8 billion USD, making Brazil Vietnam's largest trading partner in Latin America. The Brazilian President supported Vietnam to soon end FTA negotiations with Brazil and the MERCOSUR bloc in 2025.
Agriculture was a special highlight during the working trip. The two sides agreed to increase the opening of the agricultural product market, promote the coffee alliance, and develop the value chain from production to brand and consumption.
On this occasion, Vietnam announced the first batch of pangasius - basa, tilapia for export to Brazil; at the same time, Brazilian beef officially entered the Vietnamese market - a first step for two-way agricultural cooperation.
The two sides signed many cooperation documents in the fields of science - technology, innovation, and digital transformation. The total value of the agreements between the two countries' enterprises is up to hundreds of millions of USD.

At the 2025 BRICS Summit, Prime Minister Pham Minh Chinh and more than 35 leaders of member countries, partners and international organizations discussed global issues.
The Prime Minister made many practical proposals on environmental protection, healthcare, climate change prevention, reform of international financial institutions, promoting South-South economic linkage, and applying technology - AI for sustainable development.
Leaders of countries and international organizations highly appreciated Vietnam's role and initiatives, acknowledged the proactive and responsible spirit in promoting multilateral cooperation, and promoted the principle of respect for international law and the United Nations Charter.
On this occasion, Prime Minister Pham Minh Chinh also met and met with many leaders of member countries and BRICS partners, expanding cooperation orientations in many fields of politics, economy, science and technology, and investment.
To concretize the results of the working trip, the Prime Minister directed ministries, branches and localities to immediately start implementing three key areas.
First, promote the implementation of the Joint Statement and the Vietnam - Brazil Strategic Partnership Action Plan, continue to exchange high-level delegations to concretize political commitments between the leaders of the two countries.
Second, identify agriculture as a new pillar of cooperation, remove technical barriers, and facilitate market expansion for goods from both sides. At the same time, the two countries will promote the signing of bilateral FTAs and documents on food security, investment, tax and visa.
Third, continue to effectively implement Resolution 59 of the Politburo on international integration, taking advantage of multilateral mechanisms such as ASEAN, APEC, the G20 countries, ASEAN countries and BRICS to mobilize development resources, enhance Vietnam's role in the global governance system.
